Today I bring you another birthday girl. And I chose, as I usually try to do, an artist I didn't know, but who is widely recognized by the music community.
Today I bring you Joan Anita Barbara Armatrading, an English singer, songwriter, and guitarist born on December 9, 1950. She turns 75 today, and although her greatest successes were achieved on her third and fourth albums, she continues to dazzle her fans with live concerts and studio album recordings.
Having been nominated three times for a Grammy Award, she received an Ivor Novello Award for Best Collection of Contemporary Songs in 1996.
The guitar has always been her passion since an early age, and she still stands out today for her impeccable vocal combination with the musical composition of the instrument. In addition to the guitar, she treats the piano as an extension of her voice... And you will be able to see that in the next three songs I share here!

Hoje trago mais uma aniversariante. E escolhi, como costumo tentar fazer, um artista que eu não conhecia, mas que é sobejamente reconhecido pela comunidade musical.
Trago hoje Joan Anita Barbara Armatrading, cantora, compositora e guitarrista inglesa nascida a 9 de Dezembro de 1950. Completa hoje os seus 75 anos, e apesar de os meus maiores sucessos terem sido alcançados no seu terceiro e quarto álbum, ainda hoje continua a deslumbrar os seus fans com concertos ao vivo e gravação de álbuns de estúdio.
Tendo já sido por três vezes nomeada para o Grammy Award, recebeu em 1996 um Ivor Novello Award por Melhor Coleção de Canções Contemporâneas.
A guitarra sempre foi a sua paixão desde tenra idade, onde ainda hoje se destaca pela sua impecável conjugação vocal com a composição musical do instrumento.
