Three Tune Tuesday ~ Foreigner ~ Dennis Elliot ~ Birthday Boy #104
Welcome to my #TTT #ThreeTuneTuesday entry!
Good morning, everyone!
How was your week? Today is Tuesday, and as you’d expect, I’m here to introduce you to another birthday celebrant and another fantastic band.
For today’s birthday celebrant—and among the many others who are turning another year older today, or whose fans are celebrating their birthdays—I’ve chosen this British musician and drummer who became world-famous as a member of the band “Foreigner”—I’m talking about Dennis Leslie Elliott. Born in 1950, he turns seventy-six today.
This musician was a member of the world-famous band Foreigner from 1976 to 1993, when he decided to devote himself to a new passion beyond music: sculpture!
In this art form, he focuses primarily on wood carving. He centers his work on the wood provided by tree roots; among his most recognized pieces are wall mirrors, vases, wall sculptures, and picture frames... What a wonderful new world, don’t you think?
But I’m going to tell you a little about the band Foreigner. Formed in New York in 1976, its core lineup consisted of lead singer Lou Gramm, Mick Jones on guitar, Denis Elliot on drums—as I mentioned earlier—Al Greenwood on keyboards, Ian McDonald as a multi-instrumentalist, and Ed Gagliardi on bass.
Lou’s voice leaves no one indifferent. His tone and the power with which he sings the lyrics make anyone who hears him want to join in the chorus. And we have a perfect example of just that in the third song.
Another example is the lively piano intro on the second track I chose. The instrumental parts are simply enough to give you goosebumps.
And what about the first song on the list? Just listen to it and let the sounds wash over your memory... Hahaha
I hope you enjoyed my selection for this Tuesday!

Classic stuff... but I didn't know the drummer's background.
Have a great day of vacation

Great selection for this Three Tune Tuesday! The first track was a real flood of memories; it took me straight back to my childhood, when it used to play on the radio 🥲. Fantastic track choices @xrayman!
