Three Tune Tuesday ~ Elastica ~ Justine Frischmann ~ Birthday Girl #56 [Eng-Pt]
Welcome to my #TTT #ThreeTuneTuesday entry!
Good morning, music lovers!
How's your week going so far? Everything okay? I hope so. We're already on the second day of the week, and before we know it, the days are flying by... In no time at all, it'll be Christmas... How time flies!
Today I bring you another birthday girl! I'm talking about Justine Elinor Frischmann. Born on September 16, 1969, she has always stood out for her enormous artistic talent, and not only in the field of music.
Born in England, she began writing and studying music at a very young age, around 11.
Together with Brett Anderson, she founded the band Suede in 1988. She left the project in 1991.
Shortly thereafter, in 1994, Frischmann formed and led her own band, Elastica. Their first album, named after the group, released in 1995, was the best-selling debut album ever in the United Kingdom!
Imagine how successful the album was.
A few years later, in 2001, Elastica announced their amicable split, explaining that their busy schedule had led to exhaustion on the part of the band members.
The artist later developed a project called M.I.A. (Mathangi Arulpragasam), which she herself had discovered. Justine was a friend and roommate of M.I.A. and helped co-write and produce the demos used on the first album, her influence being most notable on the song “Galang.”
Now, I'm going to leave you with a small selection of three songs that many of you may not even recognize, but I'm sure you'll remember at least one of them very quickly! Especially if you were born in the late 70s or early 80s.
Their sound is very reminiscent of the Sex Pistols and other punk rock bands from the British scene, isn't it?
Hugs to all!
Cheers🍀

A very underrated Nineties band! Good tunes too! I got Stutter on a bunch of playlists! !ALIVE !PIZZA
You should join me in doing a bonus music post on Friday for #NinetiesFriday 🎸💿
Here’s a lesser known nineties tune just for u! 🎵
The Mieces - That Good One
Hello, @geneeverett !
Indeed a very underrated nineties band. I must confess that I haven't listen to them many years ago... and as soon as I went on Spotify to check their tunes to pick three for the post... I realized that it should never pass so much time.
You already invited me before to join in... Shame on me! I'll try to catch it up this Friday. But Fridays sometimes turn out a real mayhem at work. I'll keep my fingers crossed for this one.
Just notice that Elastica just release a new single TODAY!
A very different sonority, for sure. It hasn't land on my appreciated "land". I'll try to listen to track a couple of more times, before I call it out.. 😅
Thank you so much for dropping by, and to leave a comment!
Have a great week!
That’s not Elastica, the band name in on video. It’s “Release” and the song is “Topic” !LOLZ
Ok ok I joke! But that YouTube channel definitely looks like they stole it so I wasn’t sure. Indeed it is! ⬇️ wow very different indeed!
How funny! You pick them today and they release new music 🎵
Last new music was 2001!! Who knows if this is even full group or just one or two members, but interesting!

I honestly would have thought of it’s a new group with same name from Africa. U sure it’s them? I’m calling it’s a screw up. On Apple Music. Did the band put out a press release? Or u saw on streaming only?
I think mistake.
