Three Tune Tuesday ~ Buck Owens ~ Birthday Boy #53 [Eng-Pt]

Hello to all music lovers!
For today, I had thought of bringing three songs by Dire Straits, because today is Mark Knopfler's birthday, so it would be appropriate... But luckily, yes luckily, today before I started writing my entry for TTT, I went to see the posts of those I follow, and the post by LivinginUkTaiwan immediately caught my eye.
And why do I say it was a happy coincidence? Because it forced me to look for a name on today's list of birthdays. And this led me to discover another artist who stands out for his musical ability.
So I'm going to tell you a little about Buck Owens. Alvis Edgar Owens Jr. was born on August 12, 1929, on a farm in Texas. He became a very influential musician, singer, and songwriter, and it all started when Owens was the lead singer of “The Buckaroos,” who between 1960 and 1970, together with “The Strangers” by Merle Haggard, developed what would come to be known as the “Bakersfield sound.”
As the name suggests, this type of sound, which derives from country music, was born in California, in Bakersfield, around 1950. This genre has a marked influence from country and rock and roll, with the use of electric musical instruments and strong beats that make anyone tap their feet to the rhythm!
Not being particularly knowledgeable about, or even a big fan of, country music, this discovery was all the more enjoyable and satisfying!
Owens passed away on March 25, 2006, at the age of 76, but he certainly left his mark on American country music.

Para hoje tinha pensado em trazer três sons dos Dire Straits, porque sendo hoje o dia de aniversário de Mark Knopfler seria apropriado... Mas felizmente, sim felizmente, hoje antes de começar a escrever a minha entrada para o TTT, fui ver as publicações de quem sigo, e saltou logo à vista a publicação da LivinginUkTaiwan.
E porque é que eu digo que foi uma alegre coincidência, porque desta forma, obrigou-me a procurar um nome da lista de aniversariantes de hoje. E isto levou-me a conhecer outro artista que se destaca pela sua habilidade musical.
Irei então falar-vos um pouco de Buck Owens. Alvis Edgar Owens Jr. nasceu a 12 de Agosto de 1929 numa quinta no Texas. Tornou-se músico, cantor e compositor bem influente, e tudo começou ao Owens ter sido o vocalista dos "The Buckaroos", que entre 1960 e 1970 e em conjunto os " The Strangers de Merle Haggard desenvolveram o que viria a ser denominado de "som de Bakersfield".
Como o próprio nome indica, esse tipo de sonoridade, que deriva da música country, nasceu na Califórnia, em Bakerfiled, por volta de 1950. Este género tem uma marcada influência do country e rock and roll, com uso de instrumentos musicais eléctricos e fortes batidas, que deixam qualquer um bater o pé no chão de forma ritmada!
Não sendo eu um particular conhecedor, ou mesmo um grande apreciador de música country, esta descoberta foi por isso, ainda mais prazerosa e satisfatória!
Owens faleceu a 25 de Março de 2006 com 76 anos, mas deixou seguramente uma marca na música country americana.
