Razia - A long-awaited rehearsal
Good evening, my dear Hiver friends!
Here is my #weekend-engagement post.
Today I want to share in this community an experience I had last weekend. I went to a rehearsal of a Portuguese punk-rock band that sings in Portuguese.
This band, called Razia, has been around for a while, and one of the members I've known since high school has joined. A good friend of mine initially joined on electric bass, and soon afterwards switched to rhythm guitar.
In this rehearsal session, after some time of forced downtime on the part of the group, due to the recent parenthood of two of the members, neither its original vocalist nor its bassist were present. But this rehearsal was a blast! Believe it! The new songs are great, and although the members think there's a lot of work to be done, it seemed to me that the lyrics were very well worked out, just lacking the rhythm and swing of a few practice sessions before going on stage.
The rehearsal took place in a studio called Nirvana Estúdio. An emblematic studio that has been around for over twenty years. Launched as an innovative project, it's a nursery for garage bands to make the leap to professionalism, or even for those who just want to keep their sound equipment and be able to play without creating any problems with the neighbors!
For the rehearsal session, it's more than mandatory to bring ear protection, as the decibels are way up there!
The studio is very large, with an outdoor space that you can visit without having to pay for a ticket, with very interesting works of art! I still want to go back, but on a brighter day and so that I can capture it with my cell phone (I haven't bought a camera yet...). That's why the photos I'm sharing here today aren't of satisfactory quality. Despite the editing, they are not contrasty, and there are a lot of drag artefacts due to the small aperture of the lens, as you can imagine... It's a Samsung A40, and it even takes decent pictures when there's enough light... In poorly lit environments, it's nothing spectacular, especially when you open the photos on a screen larger than the phone's screen.
