A memorial to one of the great names of Portuguese punk rock - João Ribas

Welcome to my #TTT #Three Tune Tuesday entry!

A few days before the 10th anniversary of his departure, it makes perfect sense to share here with this community songs by the great João Ribas, musician, songwriter and composer of the Portuguese punk rock scene. Just as the country, despite its small size, was no impediment to a group of singers, instrumentalists and experimentalists developing the punk scene in the language of Camões.

João Ribas, who died after being hospitalized for a respiratory infection on March 23, 2014, was one of the great driving forces behind this style of music. Nowadays, although Punk isn't one of the most listened to, I still highlight it, because when I was less than half the age I am today, it was one of the most popular styles among young people.

The first song is sung by João Ribas himself and he gives it his all and unleashes his energy and good mood. In the second song we can see how, back then, everything was allowed in music.... even a lyric with the name of a commercial brand of packet potato chips "Pala Pala" A real must...

The third song, in a more serious and meleancolic tone, is one of those songs that I like to listen to when I'm not near Lisbon, and when I find myself traveling... it always makes me want to return to my beautiful city.
