3 tunes from Placebo's Album "Black Market Music"

Welcome to my #TTT #Three Tune Tuesday entry!

Today I want to share with you a set of three songs from an album released in 2000 by a group I used to listen to a lot, and still do today. Placebo, this British band formed in 1994. At that time a lot happened in the world. I did a bit of research into the most relevant factoids of the year 2000, and as many of you still remember, the most "frightening" one was the fact that some computers didn't have the year as a set of 4 digits, the fact that going from 99 to 00 could have been associated with a worldwide crash of various ATM networks and banking systems, security systems, transport networks, etc etc... which was only registered on some computers around the world when the first day of 2000 rolled around. Another relevant fact that happened in that already distant year of 2000 was the NASA report that announced that the hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica had reached an all-time high of around 11 million square miles by then. The historic Broadway musical Cats closed with around 7485 performances! Impressive, isn't it? And what's more impressive is that these sessions have been continuously sold out over the years....

But now I'll tell you a bit about my relationship with the British band. The fact that they were a bit disruptive to the scene has always been part of the magic that attracted me to them and made me a fan of their unique and original work. The simple use of various instruments, the most impressive of which is Brian Molko's voice, has always captivated me. What do you remember about the year 2000? For me it seems like "yesterday", but I know that for some of you, you wouldn't have been born yet... One observation I've had is that, as time goes by, I find myself flying between the days of the week, and that the succession of days, weeks, months and years is so, so fast! Now I understand what my parents used to tell me when I was a kid, to make the most of the time while I was a child, because when I was an adult it would fly by. I don't think it will fly by, the fact is that we end up selling and lending our time, which leaves us with the rest to try and sort out our heads and our surroundings... Vicissitudes!
