¡That there is WEEKEND EXPERIENCE community! Today I bring you this amazing night I spent with my wife and family.

It all started in El Parque Josone, Varadero, Cuba; a very beautiful park with all kinds of entertainment and luxuries, which they prepared to make this four-day Rumba, Jazz and Son Festival. Hope you like it, let's go.

When we arrived at the entrance of this park we found a huge and gigantic queue of people, unbelievable and even though the tickets were taken out for the day and then you put on a handle and that's it, each day had a different color of handle, and we saved the energy for Saturday, which by the billboard was the day that I liked the musicians who would play the most.

When we entered the park I must say that it was the first time I entered here at night, I thought it was super beautiful, all full of lights and very good vibes, especially for those who like to take pictures, with bright colors and incredible backgrounds.

The party and the Rumba had been set up at the back of the park where there is a huge open lawn space, very big to be honest, with three stages, one immense and the other two smaller and still having a lot of space, once you crossed the park from one half to the next you could already see the crowds of people.

At our first stop we stayed on the first stage, to organize ourselves well and see which singers we wanted to see, because on each stage they sang differently except for the last two, which was on the main stage.

While we were watching the billboard and agreeing with the orchestras we were going to enjoy, we approached a beer stand that I had never known, I really wanted to stay there all night.

The billboard was:

  • Rumba All-Stars
  • Orquesta Aragón
  • Grupo Compay Segundo
  • Ravi Coltrane con Gadi Lehavi y Elé Howell
  • Adalberto Alvarez y su Son (Invitada: Laritza Bacallao)
  • Alex Duvall
  • Alexander Abreu y Havana D'Primera

Now we just had to know which stage each of us would sing on.

Well, by chance where we were, there was the Compay Segundo Group and we stayed there.

Well, we loved that group very much and then on that stage Adalberto Álvarez and his Son played with his guest: Laritza Bacallao, seeing that the other stage was super full of people and that this next group that played was also very good because we stayed here having fun with good Cuban music.

Until it ended, but we were very excited and happy although in a matter of minutes the stage was empty because everyone practically ran for the main one which was the closing.

Before leaving for that stage we took a short walk around the surroundings, and the truth is that they had done a good job, many private businesses had set up a kind of mini bars and food dogs and sales of all kinds, all full of people but gave a very good façade to the place.

We took a while eating some things because it was three in the morning, and from so much energy expended we had to eat something, which led us to stay away from the stage, thanks to the huge screens we could appreciate the artists and their show in more detail.

Madre Mia, what a way to enjoy, it was a super experience full of joy and Salsa, very explosive with very contagious rhythms and enveloping melodies.

The energy was super vibrant, you could feel it in the air, the stage with its talented musicians made you dance and sing non-stop, especially first-class Havana who were the ones who closed the show.

The rumba enveloped us with its rhythm and its drums made us move our bodies to its rhythm turning each song into a real party until seven in the morning when they stopped, everything crazy Alexander Abreu did not want to stop, he wanted to continue until long and extended, but after two hours that he had to finish the concert they did not let him continue singing.

It was hard to say goodbye to that place and the experiences we had there, but we knew we would always have those moments in our hearts and in our memories. It was an unforgettable experience that allowed us to have fun as much as possible, and with the satisfaction of knowing that next year we will come again to the next festival.
