The Golden Rule.

The world cannot be all rainbows and sunshine or can it? The way people talk about the happily ever after and totally sideline the heartbreak is alarming. Sometimes I wonder, is heartbreak really a thing? Hehe. I know that they say things like "love conquers all" and "love is forgiving" but for how long?

A few days ago, there was this trend on Twitter that left a lot of people flabbergasted. I didn't follow this trend at all because I barely go on Twitter but the trend somehow found me. For the news to reach me, then, many people were touched by it;ladies especially. Just like you would expect, everyone had their opinions. Some were on the opposing party, others were on the supporting party and the rest like myself, were on the neutral party.

This trend was an eye opener to many ladies and I'm certain that some relationships ended due to this trend. If you missed it, then here is a sneak peak; the male gender decided to be a bit more open with their feelings and emotions. They gave reasons for certain behaviours that they exhibited that pissed off the female gender. The dispute however was "why make someone suffer when you clearly have no feelings for them anymore".

I wouldn't point fingers because I know pretty well that this kind of behaviour is always exhibited by both parties. If a lady is fed up with her partner, she starts to demonstrate certain Unruly characteristics. The same goes for men.

This whole occurrence which lasted for some days reminded me of the song "Stitches". For some years, I have listened to this song but the real meaning behind the song never struck properly till recently.

The song is basically about a young man who had gone through so much pain in the hands of his female partner. Eventually, they go their separate ways but he still has so much love for her and just the thoughts of her absence could prompt him to do terrible things. He is apparently still stuck to her and her memories. This is usually the case when one party loves harder than the other party.

I've seen how some people go into relationships because someone loves them and in the long run, they learn to love the person back. However, I've also seen people go into the same type of relationship and instead of growing to love their partner, they spend all their days frustrating the life of their partners. Some people tag such relationships as 'toxic'.

People are different. They react differently to situations and one cannot always blame them for their actions, or not. Sometimes, a little conversation can go a long way to save everyone the hassle. Why not just talk to them. Or say something like "I've lost feelings for you?" Rather than treating them with so much disdain and at the same time go behind them to commit atrocious acts?.

Irrespective of how long I listen to "stitches" the masterpiece never gets old. I like how real and honest the lyrics are. The song comes with a nostalgic feeling and that's for sure.

Shawn Mendes points out in his song that irrespective of the fact that the male gender acts strong(mostly by societal norms), they have feelings too and they could also get hurt. On this note, I would like to end with one golden rule, "do to others what you would like others to do to you". Be kind and considerate.

Love,Wongi✨

It's sad when people make things complicated. I believe that when in a relationship, one must be honest upfront with each other. If one falls out of love, he/she should tell the other person about it.

But as you said, people have different opinions and ways of doing things.

By the way, the song is nice, both the beats and the message xD

I am not on Twitter, but this really sounds alarming, and it has me curious about what was shared in the trend.💭

My perception was most "sane" people do not say when they fell out of love because of the fear or guilt of hurting the other person. But then if there are those who master the tactics to stay in a relationship and choose to be toxic or draining to their partner over a break-up, then that just shows a lack of empathy in compromising the other person's wellbeing and time.

I guess it is only karma that can tame them through the Golden rule: "Do to others what you would like others to do to you". 😀

It should still be among the top ten trends, if I'm not mistaken😄

Oh, and when the karma eventually comes, it bites so hard😄.

Dearest Humbe, it's been ages since I heard from you. I hope you are doing okay.

Our actions and reactions in relationships mostly are not logic at all. Its the deeply rooted want for Love n acceptance we are struggeling with.
Holding on in What "might be". A dream picture of your partner, instead of what and who He/she actual IS.

A dream picture of your partner, instead of what and who He/she actual IS.

This makes so much sense. I feel many people indulge in this and that is why their partnerships usually gets tiring and very unbearable.

I still loved my ex when I "Had to go".
One day I realized this thought..... And wrote down on paper our simple "reality" without complaining, Just simple daily facts.
It was truely an eye opener.
