My music and I

avatar

Hello everyone ✨

It's still a mystery as to how I hated attending music classes in highschool but outside the classroom, I loved listening to music. Music has been a part of me right from a very young age. There was a time when all I wanted to do was listen to music and dance to the tunes(dance moves were never my problem😃).

Over the years, my taste for music has evolved. Music is supposed to resonate with the soul and as such, my mood plays a role when it comes to the genre of music I'm listening to. I have a playlist that gets me motivated. A playlist that helps to soothe my nerves. A playlist to aid my thinking, basically a playlist for everything.

Ps: I judge songs based on the impact the song has on me. Do the words from the song speak to me? Can I relate to the wordings?

What is my favourite song?

This is a very hard one to choose as there are different songs that I like listening to. Topping the list of my favourite songs is Believer by Imagine dragons. There is no way this song would play and I wouldn't sing along; word for word.

Why do I like this song?

First of all, I like the way the song starts. It begins with so much authority, making you want to listen to the rest of the song.

The first time I listened to this song, this line captured my attention.

"second thing second, don't you tell me what you think that I can be.
I'm the one at the sail, I'm the master of my sea"

It gives me this reassurance that no one can detect how I should live. Moreover, if I live how people want me to live, then I'm invariably living the life of others.

This song talks about how pain could reshape one's life. It's totally impossible to go through life without experiencing pain but the question is, do you learn from these experiences?

How does it make me feel?

When we talk about pain, there are levels to it. I have never gone through excruciating pain in my life(and I pray I never do). This song helps me relate to the people who were unfortunate to go through such pain.I like being able to relate to things, irrespective of if I've felt it or not, and this song helps with it.

Apart from the part of relating with others, the wordings of this song resonates with my inner self. This is a piece that portrays expressiveness. Imagine dragons speaks his mind with no fear and that's how it should be. One should be able to speak up and speak out at any point in time because bottling up feelings would do no one any good.

If you haven't come across any of Imagine dragons songs then you should most definitely start with this piece.

Thank you for your time

With love, wongi ✨

I haven't listened to this song but music has always been a backdoor for me to inspiration, strength, and hope. I many times seek mental support from music instead of talking to people.

I am just not a good dancer like you are and it is true that allowing people to dictate our life would be one of the mistakes we can make as human

This is a very amazing pick. I also love this song and the first time I listened to it was in some clips in a Kdrama compilation. Haha.

I digged into the song and it's been on my playlist for as long as I can remember. I have also used it for 3 tunes sometime last year.

This song is top notch.

I it was in some clips in a Kdrama compilation. Haha.

Kdrama compilations aren't so bad after all. I thought they use only Korean songs.

Kdramas mostly use Koreans songs, but they get to fit in foreign songs once in a while.

Easter have been nice and enjoyable. Hope you enjoyed yours over there.

First of all, I like the way the song starts.

I love the beat at the beginning and I was like, "wow"... This is such an amazing song filled with positivity.

Of course, we are the master of our lives, we can sail it as we want with no one to control it for us. You chose a beautiful song and I can see why you love it.

Imagine dragons is a cool group and "Believer" is a fun song to work out to or just to lift up your mood. It's a song to set people free.

Ok, not gonna lie, to see Dolph Lundgren is such a great shape is always a pleasure!
As a mention earlier - I am a bit on the 'dark side' if it goes to music, but I really enjoy your writing and deep meaning of the song.

how pain could reshape one's life

Indeed. Even horrible time in our life always have meaning. We shouldn't always shield ourselves, we should work on our courage and strong will. I am glad that you try to learn and train your empathy, so you can better connect with others :)

I visit the musical dark side from time to time. Do you have any particular song you like better?

I am glad that you try to learn and train your empathy, so you can better connect with others :)

It's just my little way of maintaining a healthy mindset and also giving back to the the world. Give more, receive less.✨

My Spotify is bursting at the seams, if I had to introduce one song I don't think I could. I've been planning to do a post on music for a while now, but I think it would be too boring - a very long elaboration for sure.
Today I will live you with this piece:)

Video is very interesting too:)

Nothing to add here!😍

LORN by ANVIL. My first time coming in contact with it. Need I say that I wouldn't have understood the sound without actually seeing the video. The video has great artistic graphics and that's just amazing. For a minute, I was lost in the video.

I am glad you liked it, they have great videos in general. 'Acid' is very interesting too, although in totally different style.
