Love With No Regrets.
…Like the title says, love with no regrets.
Life, in all of its glory, can be very unpredictable. One minute, you're taking a hike with a loved one and the next minute the loved one is more.
The word love in itself is a very vast word. It means different things to different people. In simple terms, love can be perceived as a mix of emotions associated with intense feelings of affection or attachment to a person, place or thing.
One very grave mistake we make as humans is placing conditions on our love. We say things like “I love you because you have beautiful eyes or because you have a lovely smile”. We all have our fetishes when it comes to loved ones but I strongly believe that these fetishes shouldn't solely determine our degree of love. What if things go sideways and the fetish fades? Then what? Does the love abruptly end? This is where loving with no regret comes in
Loving with no regrets entails loving something or someone wholeheartedly, with no reservations and without fear of future consequences. This is why I admire people who are always willing to give love a shot without thinking of the possible consequences or past experiences. This set of people are real geniuses.
These days, many people are too busy ‘guarding’ their hearts from ‘what may be' that they forget to bask in the beauty and brilliance of the present. Aside from the fact that I am an advocate for peace, I usually try to appreciate the little moments I spend with loved ones. Instead of getting all worked up and storming out of a conversation, I try to settle issues amicably because we're not promised tomorrow.
A friend of mine who recently lost a loved one was reminiscing on the last days she spent with the loved one in question. All she kept saying was “although they were always on different wavelengths, she was happy that they consistently found a way to sort their issues out because of the possibly stifled love they had for each other”. This way, she wasn't left with any regrets or loads of ‘what ifs..'
I believe that loving is very simple but we overly complicate things at times. Instead of apologising for our wrong deeds, we get all defensive. I must commend the people in the entertainment industry for always portraying good virtues ‘most of the time’. If there's one thing I've noticed in movies, especially the ones released recently, is the fact that a majority of the villains usually come to their senses, accept their wrongdoings and consequently ask for forgiveness.
Instead of normalising ludicrous behaviours and risk losing priceless relationships, it's always best to get our acts together.
In the song “Like I'm gonna Lose You” by Meghan Trainor and John Legend, the themes of love, loss and mortality are explicitly explored. The soulful ballad by this duo reminds us of how we could lose everything in the blink of an eye and as such, it's best to love with no regrets. This is why I am sharing this song today as a subtle reminder to all of us.

I think your love without regrets beautifully summarizes unconditional love. Loving with no conditional clauses. For who people are and what they're not, what they might become or what they might not, what they have and what they have not. Just loving.
Well, your comment was just a beautiful one.
Thank you✨
You have beautifully summarized what love is and isn't 👍
Thank you for your comment dear:)

Unconditional love is just the best love you can have for anyone, even when there are some challenges on the way.
I agree.
