Love|| That Is The Way It Is.

There are three sets of people when it comes to love; first, the people who are extreme lovers of love. Ibbtammy and Celine Dion are the only two I know in this set. When I say lovers of love, I mean they believe in it and how beautiful it can be.

The second set would be the people who think and have accepted that love is just an illusion. Possibly a lie that was made up to hold people captive. This set of people came up with a little write up that says "If humans didn't know about the term love, they probably wouldn't have abided by it. It would just be a love-less human race". I won't lie, I gave it some thought but I never really came to a final conclusion.

The last set of people would be those who have in one way or another had an encounter with love and somewhere along the line, they lost this love due to certain circumstances. This set of people actually believe that there is a thing like love but they do not embrace it because they do not want to go through the pain that comes with the love package. And as such, they lock up their heart and say "never again".

Which category do you fall under?

I grew up in a love-filled space which would simply result in me living and breathing love. Right from when I can remember, I was taught how to love myself and the people around me. Show love to strangers and even enemies. However, comparing the world at the time when I was a kid and the world right now, I would say that there has been massive changes and this also includes the way people perceive love.

There was a time where the majority of humans actually perceived and accepted love for what it truly is but these days, love is tied to material things. I recently asked someone what their perspective of love was and without giving it a thought, they equated love to money. Can one exactly blame them?

I am no preacher of love and I'm not here to give a sermon as to why we should love unconditionally (eventually, we would all learn why in due time) rather, I'm here to share an amazing piece of music from a lover of love courtesy of the month.

For as long as I've listened to Celine Dion, she has been an advocate for love and she has the lyrics of her music to show for it. One thing I like about her pieces is that they do not talk about the fictional kind of love many people live by; rather, she paints love how it is– filled with ups and downs but still something worth embracing.

Love doesn't always follow the rules.

YouTube

I saw a movie last year (Love Again) where she played the role of one of the lead characters and all I could say was "there she is, the love advocate". Not only were her songs featured in the movie, she played a part where she was a supporter of love. She talked to people about it and generally, the movie seemed so real.

That's the Way It Is

This is the title of the song I would be sharing today. Many of us are familiar with this piece. In the song, Celine placed the spotlight on a person who had gotten out of too many bad relationships and was on the verge of giving up on love. Her advice was directed towards forgetting the past pains and opening up one's heart to the possibility of future joys. This way, happiness is certain.

She also stated clearly that "love comes to those who believe it." This line in the song has always been my reflective line. Does love really abandon those who do not believe it? Those who do not open themselves up to the possibilities?

The fact remains; there is bound to be pain when love is involved. Also, love isn't supposed to be tied to material things because when it is, then it becomes conditional. The sooner the masses realise this, the better their love stories will be.

On this note, I would like to wish you a happy Valentine's day in advance.

It's amazing that the song is 24 yrs old and still sounds great. It's one very good old song.

Thank you so much for reading 😊

You asked a reflective question and managed to evade it yourself.

I listened to That's The Way It Is completely. It's just now that I am older and with many experiences that I understand the song much better.

The question is one I haven't really gotten an answer to. But what do you think though?

As a kid, I just sang the song because that was all I ever heard at home but just like you've said, the proper understanding of the lyrics came when I got a bit older.

What do I think about your category? I think only you and people that deeply know you can tell, and most certainly not me.

Oh, my bad. I thought we were talking about this question

love comes to those who believe it." This line in the song has always been my reflective line

Eitherway, you're right. Only I would know the answer to which category I fall under.
