An Anthem of Resilience and Triumph

New songs come out each day and new artists are born each time. However, we've all come across a particular song that we probably never want to stop listening to because of how uplifting and inspiring it is or because of how much you resonate with it.

I listen to songs from both local and international artists. The local songs are full of energy and vibes while some of the international songs tilt towards "inspiring and thoughtful" on the radar. Either way, my mood totally determines what songs I listen to.

I was listening to songs from a friend's mobile device today and his playlist was a hybrid of international and local songs. A majority of his songs were really soothing and could easily send one to sleep but one of his songs caught my attention. It was a song that I have loved listening to for as long as I can remember; little wonder why I felt so elated listening to it.

You know when you listen to a song so much and eventually, you know the lyrics, every point the artist breaks, every reaction, every pitch? Champion by Fireboy is one of the songs that falls into that category for me.

From the title of the song one could easily tell what the song is about. I can say for a fact that a good number of people who have come across this song in one way or another, have liked it. Maybe because of its lyrics, its progression or something.

Fireboy sang this song for the masses. He speaks for everyone out there when he says "I'm a legend in the making, I'm a champion". Sometimes, people need such kinds of reassurance. Something to remind them that the darkest hour comes before dawn. Need I remind you how many people give up when they've almost reached their goals?

The thing with the majority of people Is that they focus more on the negative and totally sideline the positive. Focusing more on the negative only makes things worse. One's sense of logical reasoning is clouded and all you can think of is giving up. This is why songs like "champion" are made.

Such songs remind us of the fact that there is more to life than meets the eyes and also if one can exercise a little more patience and keep thriving, then someday, they would attain whatever it is they want to attain.

I'm not going to keep preaching about my love for the song because if I do, it would be a long sermon. However, one thing I'd say is that this song is my go to song whenever I need reassurance. Who are you Wongi? I'm a fluffing champion! I love how easily accessible this particular reassurance is. In a way, the song makes me feel good about myself.

So this song is dedicated to everyone out there who is striving to be something. Striving to achieve a goal. Striving to be a success. Remember that there truly is nothing like wasted effort and someday, you'd definitely become the champion you so wish to become but until then, keep doing what you know how to do best.

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.
~Pele

Love, Wongi ✨

Really love this, success is no accident, the way you arrange your bed that's how you lay on it. Working hard is very necessary. Fireboy is one important music personnel in Nigeria. Though I'm not really a fan of most Nigeria song but I enjoy his song. From #dreemport
