I used to be in a klezmer band (I played the fiddle). the other instruments were a tsimble (a kin of a dulcimer) and a hurdy gurdy. We could sure make some interesting music! It's a great instrument, and that first recording sure shows it off!! Pure love is right! Gorgeous.
Wow! I just got a new favorite instrument. Not only does it look weird as hell, it also has a fantastic sound. And silly me, I've always thought a hurdy-gurdy was what they call a Leierkasten or Drehorgel in German.
Now this was some amazing stuff, would be really nice to hear it alive. Needless to mention I've never seen something like that. Really amazing!
