What a disaster of failed policies and meaningless restrictions that was. I'm fortunate that, in the States, no one told us where or when we could go outside or take a walk. And, while most people around here did wear masks, many didn't bother. People were polite about it. You'd meet with someone and say, "Would you prefer for me to put on a mask? No? Okay then." Obviously hospitals and nursing homes were strict. But mechanics, tradesmen, contractors, they couldn't be bothered.
That said, I bloody loved the pandemic. I could commute to my job in the city by car in 50 minutes instead of taking the train for two hours. But I had a reduced schedule and did a lot of work from home. We took care of a bunch of projects that would never have gotten done otherwise. The world was quiet, peaceful. It felt like, for the first time in years, we all had time to breathe. I practiced a ton of piano and started writing again. It was the best thing that happened for my mental health, and I'd go back in a second if I could.
Oh, wow, this sounds great. :)) I think many of us had more time for our hobbies, or some new passions and creativity woke up in us :))
