VIBES WEB3 MUSIC COMPETITION WEEK 31, THEME: 2000s Music (2000-2025) "PIECE BY PIECE" BY KELLY CLARKSON, COVER BY @winanda

Welcome music lovers.

It's Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 31 and with the theme 2000s Music, I present you one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite artists, Piece by Piece by Kelly Clarkson. This song is not in any way connected to my life experiences, however, I know some people can relate to this song because I have had discussions with people who have stories similar to the backstory of this song which Kelly Clarkson experienced.

"Piece by Piece" was released in 2015, and written by Kelly Clarkson and Gregory Kurstin. The song is about how Kelly Clarkson's father left her when she was six years old, how her ex-husband (2013- 2022) came into her life and restored her faith in love and a father being present in the life of her daughter and how she wouldn't leave her daughter but be present in her life.

Unfortunately, Kelly Clarkson is divorced, she has 2 children, a daughter and a son and she's staying strong and present in their lives while holding her shows.

I don't know what it feels like growing up without a father being present because I grew up with both parents being present. I recall how my Dad would return home from work during his break to have lunch not because he couldn't take it to work but because he preferred returning to have lunch with his family and by then my mum would have brought me and my siblings back from school if she didn't decide to take us to her office (she ran a cosmetic, pastry and fashion business).

So it was fun and my Dad would return to work after lunch for another 3-4 hours work before he closed for the day.

Knowing that some people didn't have this experience or even grow up with their Dad, having had some discussions with people and read stories on the Internet, I could tell the void they felt and how disturbed their minds would have been especially when they saw their friend's or classmate's Dad while growing up, it's disturbing.

Well, some men for some reason leave their wives when they give birth, especially when they find out it's twins or triplets or even more, and so I ask: Is it the case of taking responsibility or what? What exactly is responsible?

Then after the woman has struggled to train the children to become useful, responsible and important figures in society, the man comes back to claim his title: "father". Really? Wow! Interesting.

Now, you, as the child who has grown to understand life, would find it difficult to accept him as your father even if your mother has forgiven him and is willing to accept him back, you'll feel heartbroken because he is coming back into your life when things are stable and life feels good.

Some men leave their wives because they gave birth to only female children, haha, that's a funny one because; Hello men! Who carries the Y-chromosomes that fertilize a woman's egg for a chance of a boy child? Okay, I wanted to remind you.

Well, if only those men had the mindset that children are gifts from God and when their daughters are married, their husbands automatically become their sons. Oh, I know you never knew. Well, that's the beauty of love and unity.

A family is meant to be nurtured, united, protected and cherished. It's beautiful to experience and gives hope to those who wish to have a family someday.
