Midnight Gems -Your Free Mix-Tape Show - E 57 "Sticking to what I know and like"

I always try to build a nice setlist for you, and today I had an abundance of great songs but I struggled so badly organizing them in a perfect order. You probably don´t give a rat´s ass about that, but for me, I love my set to flow in one ear and out the other.

Hence if today's list makes perfect audible sense to you, great another job well done if not, too bad and just dig out the gems you like to keep for your playlist.

I for one will add Nina to my list, this slightly dark electronic, near Goth vibe is really enjoyable and I am afraid we stay fully in my comfort zone tonight.

Nina Belief - "Siren Of Silence"

These girls have been around and I found their latest song but when I had a look at their channel, this is more my taste, it has this happy smile in the dark feeling while still being heavy on the synths, and they remind me of one of my fav bands.

Marsheaux - Pure

Yes I know, I have too many favorite bands, but if you listened well you might have heard the Shiney Toy Guns sound dripping of the previous song.

Shiny Toy Guns - "Somewhere to Hide"

This next one might be a bit off, compared to the rest but I had to add it, I love a bit weird, a bit different, a bit much, and Allie X served that very nicely. It has even more of an 80s taste while also kissing the modern electronic sounds....so sweet and still a bit dark... not referring to coffee.

Allie X - Weird World

That brings us to the song that got me in the mood, this is the song that kicked me into this rabbit hole. To be honest I did not know them, even though they have been around for quite some time and sound like something I can listen to for hours.

Echoberyl - Through the Chaos

Not sure what it is with Solar Fake I must have added them to multiple setlists already, and every time I find I new song I am like...okayish.
I play it once, more and yes it´s okay but not great, and after the third time they remain in the playlist...while other songs that I liked from the start got removed. It is as if these guys make songs that slowly grow on you...IDK their beat, their accent, it just works for me.

SOLAR FAKE - This Generation Ends

That does not go for this next song, I know this group and I have often thought about adding them but they are always ... so-so. Never making the cut, but not tonight, tonight we can take the long black road into the darkness. I know, everything already had this goth electro taste and I am not cleansing your pallet, this is just what tonight was made to taste like

For those who do not understand German the song is called something like The Peter Penis Dance, but except for fitting tonight's bill...this video with all the Banksy stuff is crazy good.

Somewhere lost in time, trying to escape out of the rabbit hole back into the rat race there is a vacuum..... that´s the place where midnight gems are found.

My Midnight Gems will try to uncover & recover those beautiful songs that nobody ever noticed or might have been forgotten.

Who the fluff am I?

Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years...Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets.
