After the Enormous Success of my first How I Moved The Floor - A Friday Night With DJ Pluis I already wanted to share a slightly more mainstream & dancy Saturday night session. It took some time to finalize but here it is!

How many years has it been? At least twenty that is for sure, twenty-something years ago I opened my first-ever paid set with this song.

It was my trial, supervised by one of the resident DJ. I was not supposed to get paid but the supervising DJ split his earnings with me that night and I still have those three 10 guilder notes.

Just like that song, I invented many versions of myself since. Musically I have been all over the place, still, I love that sunglasses-at-night vibe.

That would always be at the core of any of my sets. So I started out on that 80s´Wednesday and I had to work my way up to become the Saturday night resident DJ, because that is kind of the top. It took time, but I got there, and this is how I did it, music-wise I mean.

Get The Party Started on a Saturday Night

So to get the party started on a Saturday night without alienating all before I got the beats pumping in their veins I loved to use some tracks that were considered too commercial. Keep in mind we were an alternative Rock & Dance club and going mainstream could get you killed. Finding out just how far you could go made you famous and got the girls dancing.

So this would be right there on the edge, it would get the metal boys to throw me angry looks, but their girlfriends would be flocking to the floor.

Sunglasses and sex that is how I did it, because as my manager always said sex sells. And she might have been a little bitch, but she got that right.

It sells drinks, sweaty hot girls dancing make sweaty hot boys drink. Sexy songs, put butterflies in your stomach, especially after a shot or three and when those butterflies are kicking and screaming inside you you just can´t stop.

And once you got that feeling in your head it won't go away no, you just have to keep going. These guys were a chime, great alternative dance if you ask me.

Now to be back with some other mother f ing block rocking beats I turn to the guys that always kept my floor going, dark beats, sick hooks and often wearing sunglasses at night. More tequila, more stomach acid, keep dancing fools I will make you Spit Fire.

The Prodigy - Spitfire

Back in my days if you want to go beyond the Prodigy Power Blast, where could you turn to without turning to metal, or hardstyle? What would continue that kick in the teeth without losing that pumping alternative dance/rock feeling?

There was very little, but there were these guys and damn they still like to make my eardrums bleed like a bunch of bitches.

It´s a shame I found the next guys only after my DJ career was done, because damn they would work so well with MSI & Prodigy. I love beats and riffs, with a sniff of screamo, especially if it keeps the floor pumping and running.

Being metal and stuff means by nature we like it a little darker still, ghostly dark. Wanna visit the cemetery at night with me and my sunglasses? It´s keeping it dark and dancy while giving you time to catch your breath before things get really scary.

Now that was a soundtrack wasn´t it, Queen of the Damned almost generated a better set than I would, almost of course.

Why Almost, well because who´s your daddy, who´s your master of darkness, who is pòuring this bitches brew over you?

We can do it darker, I can make you move, I could make them move like animals.... me and NIN would make the floor squirm.

Can you feel the big bang coming, can you feel me building up to make you explode, can you keep going just a bit longer or did I blow your brains already? Because I am going to push this revolution down your veins if you like it or not, we had Peaches / Prodigy and this is their blasphemous love child.

Can I get even worse, can I make this musical nightmare last and take you even a level lower into Dante´s Inferno...... Leave that to me because I am here for your soul and I will again make this floor pump so bad that noses will be bleeding when the lights go and then I can commence my little ritual.
