Beyond The Looking Glass is the second book in the Unseen series, a story that came to me from the other side. A story where I thought I was just the narrator until I heard the Words of the Unseen.

This second story goes beyond time and place and mixes the long ago with the here and now. Because history keeps repeating, until we learn and do something about it.

Beyond The Looking Glass - Words of the Unseen - Chapter 68

Dear Reader, I think you and I should talk.

How was it for you?

Did you enjoy our slightly crazy journey so far?

What if I would twist the plot and change my crazy world of which you have been a spectator for so long?

Would you still like me? Would you still read me? Would you still cry if I killed off your favorite character?

Letยดs find out, shall we.

Out of nowhere, she stands there, small, voluptuous, and with a fiery red tuft. I hang up her coat and those of her friends and then position myself between the bar and the coatroom so that I can keep an eye on her.

Damn if it isn't true, this one is also keeping an eye on me.

When she walks to my side of the bar to order I know for sure.
I beckon Iwan the bartender, and when he turns around to get her drinks I quickly ask her, "Stay a bit near the bar, I don't mind being able to watch you at all."

She looks at me a little too long, "I will," she says staring into my eyes a little too long. Or rather just long enough for me to absolutely have no doubt.

When I come out of the garderobe five minutes later after hanging up some coats she is gone.

Damn, that's always the case with me. Finally my type of girl for once, and then I am too assertive again. And I was so sure after that stare.

When Robin looks for an excuse to talk to his girlfriend I offer to go around the club to pick up the empty glassware in his place. Itยดs not me being nice, I just need to get away from those coats for a bit and cruise the club.

I know what I am looking for I am just not sure if she is still here, her coat is but she might have gone to visit another place.

She didnยดt, right in the middle of the dance floor, there are those buttocks and that quiff. With an arm full of glasses I accidentally walk past. "I thought you were going to stay near the bar?"

"Yeah no, we're here to dance."

I look at her swaying hips and think dancing is that crazy, the way those curves move. But from the garderobe I stand no chance in looking at her.

"Do you want something to drink," I ask quickly.

"Water!" She says a little too loudly.

"Water? You know what water means, right?"

She looks at me in shock, "uh no I'm just thirsty,"

I have to laugh and walk on.
When I come back I have a water and two shots.
"Water is a signal, it means you are absolutely not interested, but if you do a shot with me you're forgiven."

"I really didn't know that," she says as she looks me deep in the eyes while she finishes the shot, and then she coughs. A quick sip of water takes care of the burning sensation.

"Hope you come and say goodbye before you leave," is what I leave her with as I walk back to the bar with an arm full of glasses.

The night gets really busy and Robin is happily taking care of the coats, but I donยดt see the girl anymore. Too many people and too much glassware.

When the music stops, and the lights come on I start cleaning the tables.

"This is her number, so she knows when you're working again. But she does have a boyfriend." I turn around and see a handsome long-haired metal guy, he is pressing a piece of paper into my hands.

As my gaze follows him down the hall I catch a glimpse of her buttocks walking out the door.

Deliah 0624244878

That's also saying goodbye of course I think as I remove the ashtrays from the table.

The Beginning of The End

Yes, Dear Reader, that was the beginning of the end.

The beginning and the end of my DJ career, the end of my life in the cold wet Netherlands, the end of my life as a bachelor, the end of my life as a childless being, the end of my life as a naive man, the end of my life as a self-confident big mouth, the end of my life as Talk of the Town.

It was the end of my life as I've known it for 27 years.

I thought I should spare you my horrible fate, and so I will intervene here.

Enough is enough, I would say.

Who knows, I might write a whole book on that relationship one day, but at the moment you and I are not waiting for all that drama.

We want to understand what was actually going on with all those strange figures that lived in that beautiful, plump South American lady.

Of course, I also share the sensation called Deliah with you, but to guide you step by step through the next 17 years seemed a bit pointless to me.

Nobody has time for that!

Ain't Nobody Got Time For That

We will do it in TikTok style, just the highlights.

If you do not agree, then I hope that after all these chapters there is no reason for you to put this book down or burn it out of sheer anger.

I promise you we are far from nearing the end of this endless journey, in front of, and beyond the looking glass.
