Beyond The Looking Glass - Words of the Unseen - Chapter 59

Beyond The Looking Glass is the second book in the Unseen series, a story that came to me from the other side. A story where I thought I was just the narrator until I heard the Words of the Unseen.
This second story goes beyond time and place and mixes the long ago with the here and now. Because history keeps repeating, until we learn and do something about it.
Beyond The Looking Glass - Words of the Unseen - Chapter 59
I thought it was De Voetjes again, but the body shook much harder than normal. Then it goes calm, and with eyes bigger than the little one's, Claudia looks at me.
A look I don't recognize, it does not seem to be any of the ones I met so far.
"Who are you?"
It seems as if she is trying to talk, but nothing happens. She moves the mouth, after a bit I hear a raspy sound but not a single word.
A few seconds later she taps her lips and then turns her hand upwards in a kind of questioning movement.
Caught by incomprehension I look at her, "You can't talk? Who are you?"
I see the big eyes dart back and forth and then half turn away. It is as if whatever is in that body is desperately looking for a way to use the vocal cords.
Then the eyes come back and look at me intensely.
"Eciov," the voice sounds hoarse.
Then she shakes her head.
Roughly she grabs my face and shakes her head again, "Eciov."
"What do you mean, what is an Eciov?"
And then the penny drops....
"No voice, you have no voice. You...you are America?" I ask in disbelief.
The enormous eyes shine, just as roughly as before she grabs my head again and pushes her third eye against mine.
I try to realize what I notice, but all I see is a very bright white light, or maybe more than one.
Then she lets go of me, turns awkwardly to the bedside table, and grabs the spoon.
Like a child with a toothache bites its rattle, she bites into the spoon.
I am shocked, "no, that is not possible. What are you doing?"
She looks at me and bites the spoon again, to then suck it off. It does not look sexy.
"America, you cannot eat metal."
The enormous eyes look at me as if I am crazy, then she nods very loudly yes.
"Sorry, you are right but people, and in any case, Claudia cannot eat metal."
I have never seen such a disappointed look as America's when she hands me the spoon, and then presses her third eye really hard against mine, again.
Then the feet move.
I guess that is what she meant when she brought up the men in white coats.
Literally, nothing happened. There is no proof, still, in my mind I can see the whole picture and it triggers a very strong X-files feeling.
Without having her tell me I know she means both.
It seems I know even more.
I see it very clearly.
This is not multiple personalities, this is.....and then the clear image disappears. This is a mess.
It is.....
I try to hold on to the image but all I see is an old-fashioned radio and people in white coats.
"Daddy, don't tell them because then they all want to know what America knows."
"Because when you discover America, life will never be the same again."
That made sense in so many ways.
"I won't say anything, but I am curious, what does America know that we don't?"
She does not say it but her eyes do....dumb Daddy.
"I can say that, crazy daddy. Then you know it too."
"Ahh, only one thing I'm so curious about?" I have to try how often you get this opportunity, if its real of course.
She thinks for a long time, "Okay, those fruits, the red ones that are very good against diseases."
"Red fruits, strawberries?" I ask.
"No, the other ones, the ones with the seeds."
"Apples?"
"No, silly daddy."
Which fruit then, and why do I know that by diseases she means cancer, among other things?
"I don't know any fruit, what do you mean, is it something Claudia also buys?"
"Yes, very often," she nods as if we are on the right track.
"Peppers"
"No, the other one," she sounds enthusiastic,
"Tomato?"
"Yes Daddy, yes that one." Then she puts her hand over her mouth, knowing that she has talked past him.
"But that is a vegetable," I say.
No reply, the little one has already left, has hidden, because she knows that she has talked too much again. They should call her little blabbermouth, the thought makes me smile.
