Beyond The Looking Glass - Words of the Unseen - Chapter 128

Beyond The Looking Glass is the second book in the Unseen series, a story that came to me from the other side. A story where I thought I was just the narrator until I heard the Words of the Unseen.
This second story goes beyond time and place and mixes the long ago with the here and now. Because history keeps repeating, until we learn and do something about it.

Beyond The Looking Glass - Words of the Unseen - Chapter 128

The thing is that the herd isnยดt truly one anymore;
They are spread out, isolated, feeling abandoned, out of place in the society that surrounds them.
But, they find their brothers in arms on the biggest battlefield humans have ever seen.
They are driven to create a counterculture the size the world has not witnessed, Covid almost ignited the explosion. Were it not for balancing it out by creating a sense of brotherhood at the same time.
Next time, next time, they will make sure there is no brotherhood to balance out the anger.
That will be the moment when everything tore open by anger, darkness, and the hollow weight of emptiness.
Martio heard it, felt it echo through his chest like a second heartbeat gone wrong. But he couldnโt see it.
It was too much, too fast, too far outside the world he knew.
His mind, shaped by the calm and order of his era, couldnโt hold what had just happened. If he could have seen it, it would have ruptured what he believed to be reality.
Now I have no clue why I am seeing, feeling, hearing this, but when I wrote battlefield ....the bells started ringing, and it makes sense.
But how is the priory that I have in mind ever gonna be decisive in a battle that I can not see coming, or control?
Maybe that is where I am flawed...maybe that is why I am not where I need to be, and why bells are ringing now...
These are no Christmas bells, that is for sure, but why?
Why do I not see the trigger...., how can I counter the unknown?
How can I counter....
It is this inner emptiness, it is our biggest enemy.
The big hole in the soul.
Many, so many carry this burden.
When we got free will, it was a two-sided blade.
We detached from the need for survival and fear of death, we were enabled to rationalize our decisions, no longer solely driven by procreation and fight or flight like all others.
With the gift of free will, humans received:
- Self-awareness
- Abstract reasoning
- Language
- A sense of time and mortality
And painful byproduct: the awareness of meaninglessness.
Or at least the absence of guaranteed meaning. The emptiness, this existential vacuum born from their leap in consciousness.
They developed coping mechanisms:
It began with myth and religion, cosmic narratives that explained why we are here and what happens after death.
All tools to tame chaos and doubt.
When that started failing or was not enough, they looked at themselves in all possible ways and from all existential angles through Culture, Philosophy, and Art.
From the Stoics to existentialists, people tried to reason their way into peace, meaning, and belonging.
Filling the emptiness with storytelling, music, and painting to externalize the inner world.
Some, like Camus, were fighting this emptiness, stating that the struggle itself gave life meaning.
โThe struggle itself is enough to fill a man's heart.โ
But menยดs favorite way of filling the void was by forgetting about it through Work, Creation, and Power Games.
People built civilizations, chased ambition, shaped the world, trying to give purpose through action.
Building a career, a city, an empire, became the favorite pastime, the ideal way to create spiritual distraction or meaning-making.
Before some wiseguy or girl is going to drop me a note with that famous Beatles lyric.....
No, itยดs not.
Love and Relationships help quiet the loneliness of consciousness.
Intimacy makes the absurdity of life feel bearable, even beautiful.
But we all die alone, and therefore, no matter what you invest in building relationships and worshipping the pleasure human chemicals (Vasopressin, Endorphins, Serotonin, Oxytocin, and Dopamine, when you get lucky) bring, they do not fill the emptiness.
It numbs the feeling of having that hole in your soul.
Just look at that list, and tell me these are not all the ideals most human beings spend a lifetime chasing.
These are the gems that give many the idea of bringing value to an otherwise empty existence.
People are constantly searching for meaning, often in all the wrong places, desperately looking to make sense of the bigger picture they can not comprehend.
They find it in occupying themselves till death do them part from whatever they choose as a bandage for the wound, the emptiness, the absence of guaranteed meaning.
And it all started with that leap in consciousness. When creation happened, it took place in the garden, that garden held the secret.
It was the safe place, designed to support the leap, to fill the void..... and that is where the Tree comes in...or should I say Trees?
