Musik aus der Jugend - Anarchy In The UK (DE|EN)

In der Jugend ist man oft rebellisch und das drückt sich natürlich auch in der Musik aus. Mir gefiel der heiße Scheiß aus England, der mittlerweile aber schon nicht mehr so neu war. Mein Vater bezeichnete die Musik als die einer Volksgruppe aus den ehemaligen ostafrikanischen deutschen Kolonien. Hottentotten Musik nannte er sie.

When you're young you're often rebellious and that naturally comes out in your music. I liked the hot shit coming out of England, but it wasn't that new anymore. My father described the music as that of an ethnic group from the former German colonies in East Africa. He called it Hottentot music.

Er schien vergessen zu haben, dass seine Elterngeneration genau so auf die Rolling Stones reagiert hat, deren Musik er hörte. Heute geht es mir ähnlich und hin und wieder muss ich lächeln bei dem Gedanken.

He seemed to have forgotten that his parents' generation reacted in exactly the same way to the Rolling Stones, whose music he listened to. I feel the same way today and sometimes I have to smile at the thought.
