Hello Hive Open Mic community, it’s @wealthwess here and I’m thrilled to join you today. We’ve arrived at Week 274, and this week’s theme chosen by our latest Spotlight Artist is none other than “Mermaid.” In honor of that ocean-inspired theme, I’ll be sharing a cover of Skylar Grey’s “Everything I Need.”

Why this song for “Mermaid”? First, it was written for the Aquaman movie, a story set in the depths of an under-sea kingdom filled with legendary, mermaid-like beings.
Lyrically, “Everything I Need” speaks of unconditional love and the calm certainty of finding a home in another soul and skylar’s voice on the song is soothing, and powerful.

As few may know, Skylar Grey has many beautiful songs, but this one captures the aquatic magic we’re celebrating this week. So that’s why i’m bringing you this cover and I hope the ebb and flow of the melody carries you to a tranquil, blue realm where mermaids sing and waves sparkle.

Hola comunidad de Hive Open Mic, soy @wealthwess y estoy encantado de unirme a ustedes hoy.
Hemos llegado a la Semana 274, y el tema de esta semana, elegido por nuestro más reciente Artista Destacado, no es otro que “Sirena.”
En honor a este tema inspirado en el océano, compartiré una versión del tema “Todo lo que necesito” de Skylar Grey.

¿Por qué esta canción para el tema “Sirena”? Primero, porque fue escrita para la película Aquaman, una historia ambientada en las profundidades de un reino submarino lleno de seres legendarios parecidos a sirenas.
Líricamente, “Todo lo que necesito” habla del amor incondicional y de la calma que viene con encontrar un hogar en otra alma. La voz de Skylar en esta canción es suave, envolvente y poderosa.

Como algunos ya sabrán, Skylar Grey tiene muchas canciones hermosas, pero esta en particular captura perfectamente la magia acuática que estamos celebrando esta semana.
Por eso, les traigo esta versión con mucho cariño y espero que el vaivén de la melodía los lleve a un reino azul y tranquilo, donde las sirenas cantan y las olas brillan.
