AFRI-TUNES WEEK 164 || YEMI ALADE - TOMORROW (COVER) || BY @WEALTHWESS

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Hello, Afri-tunes community, it’s your boy @wealthwess and it’s really good to be back today for our weekly event. We’re now in week 164 which is great milestone for our great community and i know weren’t stopping here because the journey continues. Therefore, for this week i’d be making a cover of a song by one of african female finest singer by name Yemi Alade and she titled the song Tomorrow.

Yemi Alade has proven her talent over the years with hit songs and for me with the way she crafted her song differently from other female artists made her stood out for me. Yemi Alade’s talent has taken her to places because for her it’s not just about making songs, she was part of the previous judges on the voice nigeria show which was a successful one by the way. The song Tomorrow is just so beautiful to the extent it’s was nominated at Grammy 2025 as part of Best African Music Performance, although she came short in the category but it will be forever remembered as Grammy nominated song.

Tomorrow as the song title implies can be decipher as talking about future, like how one needs to be careful of things we do or doing in the present, for example how we treat people be it bad or good, because tables do turn sometimes and it won’t be nice to be at the negative side of the table “tomorrow” when it turned. So, this is a song that isn’t just talking sense, but also enriched in both lyrics, instrumental, and vocal it’s all round packaged and that’s why i’m presenting it as my entry for this week event and I do hope you’ll enjoy it.

TOMORROW / LYRICS

Nobody knows tomorrow
Stay with me tonight
Popote wendapo
I go dey remember
You go always dey my mind

Inna my mind I am looking for the melody
Searching for the rhythm wey go totori
And in my soul I am waiting on the prophesy
I know, I know it's coming soon

My mind don dey worry for my cheda
