What Can I Shan't I Do? - Adios Amigo to the Rescue

Hello Music Lovers! Welcome to my blog😊. Sometimes it's like algorithms can sense your mood. There are days that you can click on YouTube and the songs on the feed that day match your exact mood.

That was how I once stumbled on "Adios Amigo by Jim Reeves". I was on a heartache spree. I don't want to dwell on that issue for long though. Memories still linger, although the impact hit me hard late last year.

Love is funny. Or should I say illusion in this matter? Because, probably, I was the one locked in a love that wasn't. Haha. Let me laugh because I am done crying. When the news came, I was working. Apparently, he'd found another candidate to love. Oh, what can I shan't I say?! I was devastated.

I tried to hold the tears back. Pass me a wipe please. I had to put on my work face. So, I clicked on YouTube to clear my thoughts. YouTube has humor! I was cruising trying to find a soothing song, then pap, here comes Adios Amigo.

Funny thing, although sang from Jim's perspective, it really applied to my situation. I sat at my desk replaying the song, crying in my mind so as not to draw attention. I even crammed the lyrics to go vent at Karaoke night..haha! My friend was falling over with laughter but I jammed it.

Just as Jim sings, "when two love the same love, one love has to lose." Our road did come to an end. And although I lost, it was a good ride. Maybe in the next life, it'll last forever.

I loved this song because, it is not bitter. It's slow, soothing like a lullaby. It flows through the soul like a shower to the body. And it carries emotions without overdoing it. Now, whenever I stumble across his photo in Google Photos (yes, some still linger, maybe Google refuses to let go, or is it me?), I pause, smile faintly, and whisper, Adios Amigo..
