As I mentioned in previous posts, including yesterday's - The pink color of parties table paper cover - my grandparents immigrated from what is now Okinawa Prefecture in Japan, a place with a very distinct language, arts, cuisine, and religion, inherited from the time of the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom (which the Portuguese at the time of discoveries called Léquios).

Today's art for the Challenge: Drawing (almost) every day on iPad was inspired by the music that symbolizes the Okinawan diaspora (alongside Brazil, immigrants and descendants are spread across countries like Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, the USA (mainly California and Hawaii), etc. As I mentioned in the post Okinawan Proverb, this year I started studying the Okinawan language (uchinaaguchi) at the Associação Okinawa de Vila Carrão and decided to translate the song and share it on Ruuchuu Charmverse (like a Notion in web3). For your convenience, here's the text:

Como mencionei em posts anteriores, inclusive no publicado ontem - O cor de rosa do papel das mesas nas festas - meus avós imigraram da atual província de Okinawa no Japão, local com língua, artes, culinária e religião bem distinta, herança da época do antigo reino de Ryukyu (que os portugueses da época dos descobrimento chamavam de Léquios).
