RE: New Tunes 1.8.2025

Big Special have put a lot of effort into this. Whether it's the lyrics or the music, everything that has ever been successful or popular has simply been repackaged.
With We Lost The Sea, I wondered if I had ordered a full-blown depression in the past few days.
McCulsky clearly confirms my preconceptions: office work is far more dangerous than removing landmines. Pl@ža is a bit too intense for me, while Dunjaluk confronts me with Sevdah (which I have problems with anyway), who becomes even more haunting with this intense voice.I also still wonder what they actually mean by this Džidža?
The Velvet Sundown? Has this artificial intelligence been fed exclusively with material from the 60s and 70s? Not my thing!
For Unbelievable Lake, I need to reserve a quiet moment to really appreciate the entire work.
Glad you stopped by. Džidža is a metaphor; the song is about going wild, losing control, taking life into your own hands, regardless of how society sees it as "worth it". I don't usually like sevdah either, but here I was, first intrigued by the exquisite, slightly jazzy guitar. The vocals are also stunning.
Yes, the AI of Velvet Sundown is probably fed with those '60s and '70s tunes. It has about 2 million streams on Spotify, so I was curious. That's recycling, but the Big Special is doing the same thing :) As William Gibson said ten years ago in one interview, we're living in the recycling era :)
