All Clay and No Work

(Edited)

Remember me claying with play playing with clay, many moons ago?
If not or in case you missed it, you can refresh your mind here by checking out play with clay and/ or all work and no clay shared last year, in June.

Toclay Today I got back to playing with clay and perhaps not surprisingly ( I summoned it yesterday, after all ) the clay shaped into The Monster of Disco that was clearly still somewhat related to my previous incarnation creation/ alter ego: Hypersensitivosaurus ( hence the lizard tail ).

And this is what it looked like, before I took the thing to my balcony/ veranda and added some nature ( moss ) and a clay flower that I grew a day ( or two ) ago. The flower must be of the alien type and although colorful can clearly use some energy.

The Monster of Disco is supposed to look like it's swinging it's right leg into the air and moving its body to the music.

Fun Fact:

When I was about to start this post, I was shaking my body and bobbing my head ( wish I was as flexible as my creation ), whilst listening to 90s eurodance music ( one of my guilty pleasures ).

In all honesty, I am not a big fan of disco music, unless it’s one of my other guilty pleasures, so called ‘Italo disco’. I suggest looking up that sub-genre, if you’ve never heard of it and want to put a smile on your face ;<)

By the way: The Monster of Disco is not necessarily a disco music monster but it sure likes to dance, get into the flow state and forget about the other monsters around it, especially those who are trying hard to involve him in the(ir) drama.

Don't forget to keep smiling and listening to music that you enjoy, moving to it in any way you like. And if the above by any chance put a smile on your face, that will be an added bonus to my day :^)

my veranda view today, during a dry spell

Hahaha!

Hee Ed! Alles goed?

In all honesty, the head is supposed to resemble a disco ball,
I just didn't feel like adding the details, so I guess l left it open to people's interpretations :<)

P.S. Is slim metal a sub-genre of metal? ;<)

ahhh owwwk ... disco ball run flat by some heavyweight... uhm ... not sure about that heavy weighted object ... perhaps a cyber-truck? 🙃

Is slim metal a sub-genre of metal?

Perhaps? When not, we can invent this sub-genre? Could also be the name of a personification of metal? Anyways, cool you went DYI and artsy with clay and 2D metal 🙃

The idea of a "guilty pleasure" seems kinda dumb to me XD

Is the disco monster made of rubber? Or plasticene XD As I'd be a tad concerned about that leg otherwise XD

I'll probably be looping my thought track today, assuming I can stay in the room long enough XDS (our aircon broke and this room is getting unusually hot for some reason, it used to be fine when the fan uis cranked).

I see art all around me, and am drawn to what I call the "beautiful desolation" of a once grand old building, for instance. As a boy, I was fascinated about the seemingly random patterns found in nature that weren't so random after all. The little things is life that make us smile can mean a lot. :)

Same here. I often find old, decaying stuff ( especially buildings ) more beautiful than shiny new things. Probably because it reminds me of our own transience/ mortality.
And I am still that 'little boy' who is fascinated by repeated 'perfect' patterns in nature,
like a snail shell or a rolled up fern.

That Monster of Disco with its silver head had me thinking of backin the day. Actually I had a disco for my daughter's party - we recreated the scene - disco ball as well. I was trying to imagine you dancing and bobbing your head - monster watching.

You have a great view - looking forward to see the view during the summer.

Nice to hear about your daughter's disco party, including an actual disco ball :<)

I sure do
but most of my neighbors have a way wider view ( seeing mountains not hills ), as depicted in some of my other posts of the last couple of weeks . Can't complain though!

And yes, I do hope I'm still here around the summer. For now it's a half year contract, that started in January, with possible monthly extension.

Knuffel!

Thank you! That sure would be nice. I am getting a little tired of moving house so often.

Nowadays, small boxes are also available in this way and children buy it with enthusiasm and it is a beautiful thing made by their hard work and because of the different colors, its beauty has increased even more.
