I remember the first time I saw them, it was in a magazine in my country called “La Hoja del Gato” (the Cat’s Leaf) it was a music magazine that include a weekly 2-page spread for the Fan Club of the BSB in Venezuela.

I used to collect all the teenage magazines I wanted to be a big girl I was only 12, so when I saw that cover with those good-looking guys on it, I was like oooh who are those and I need to have it, I bought it (back them I was rich and didn’t know it lol ). It was a Christmas photoshoot that was used on the cover which is why I remember it so vividly.

It was their pick famous, and their music was being played all over the world so, even tho I didn’t have internet back them to look around to hear their music, I was able to tune in to any local radio station they were always playing them, it was also my first ever interest in listening to music in English.

I managed to get my dad to buy me their Cassette cause, yes, I am that old, I was sooooo excited! Also, that year I started high school, so I was beginning to take some classes that were going to help me understand them better…

Learning English

I'm from Venezuela so, my mother tongue is Spanish, and like it or not, English is globally the lingua franca almost. So, understanding it is very important, and I'm thankful that my love for the BSB brought me this desire to learn it.

I was actually talking the other day with @soy-laloreto about how good it is that I speak English and how much different my life would be right now if I didn’t, cause of all that I have accomplished I feel like I couldn’t if I didn’t know how to speak English, even tho I think I suck at it, and I still have A LOT OF WORK to do to be better at it especially speaking it (and as you can see by reading this post, my grammar sucks!) if I didn’t know the level of English I do right now I wouldn’t have the life I do.

Why? Easy my job and all the opportunities I had to have have been thanks to the networking I have done with the English speakers of our chain, so… Yeah, speaking English has been a big plus.

But how did I learn it? It was all thanks to the BSB, I fell in love with them and I wanted to actually understand their songs, when I got to high school I started to have an English class, and I fully took advantage of this, my teacher told me to Translated everything that crosses your path using a dictionary, this would help me expand my vocabulary and everything that I didn’t understand or didn’t find a correct translation to, she was always there to help me, the other teacher I got also gave me the amazing idea of not reading the translations to the songs while I was listening to them, but to read the original English version, that way I could start developing my ear in that language.

Both these teachers gave me many other tips to help me improve, cause, to be honest, high school taught English is not the most advanced. But if I wouldn’t have had the interest to learn it on my own I wouldn’t manage to get as far as I got without any proper courses, and that is something I have to thank the BSB for, that and for giving me something in common with girls around the world I can call my BBFs for over 20 years now.

My friends

I don't make friends much like I had my high school friends and that was cause I saw them all day every day, but to this day the BBF I still have are those crazy fan girls I meet thanks to our love for the BSB, they are still in my life and even tho I have drifted apart from some of them cause of life, we are still pretty much in contact and reach out whenever we can and know that if ever in need we are here for each other.

30 years and more to come

I'm a proud fan of the work ethic, the love for the fans, the love for the music, and how even tho some of the 5 guys that make part of the BSB have entirely different views than I do know that I'm a grown woman, they seem to be decent human beings.

I have always been very open to all genres of music, but my heart belongs to pop music, and they are the epitome of pop in my opinion, they have grown to be so much more than the typical boy band, and continue to make amazing music 30 years later, music, I still want to sing to while I see them in concert.

I have been lucky enough to go to their concerts every single time they have come to my country, sadly since Venezuela went into the economical crisis we were, and are just now starting to not fully come out of it but like getting into a better place, they haven’t come anymore =( but I don't lose hope, some day!

I want so badly to meet them in person! I haven’t been able to do so yet, and it kills me a little every time I think about never having the opportunity if they never come back to Venezuela.

Now lest talk about my favorite songs, I'm already lol knowing full well this is going to be hard since I love so many!

A lot of people don't know they started with a European album since it was over there where they first made it big

There are some big hits that come from this album and I love all of them but if i have to pick my favorite song on it, it has to be...

Just to be Closed to You Why? because my favorite BSB AKA Kevin has a spoken part in the intro of it that makes my panties drop every single time. his deep voice is just to die for.

This is probably the album every person that knows them thinks is their first, since it acted as such in the North American market, from this album As Long As You Love Me is the song, that is just perfect in every way, and I'm not going to argue about it.

Their most famous album to date, now this is one of the albums, where I can't just choose just one is just physically impossible for me there are so many good songs, but here comes the first one I hate don't like, I Want It That Way this is the most famous song of the album, even if you hate the BSB you know this song, and I can't figure out why?!?!?! the lyrics don't make any sense, I think is catchy yes, but lyrically is their worse and it was written by the mastermind Max Martin, so I don't know why...

But like I said there are too many songs that I just LOVE in this album, i love the ballads the most so if I have to pick it would have to be, the first song written by Kevin and Brian that got into an album, and that Kevin players beautifully in the piano, Back To your Heart

This album has a special place in my heart since because of it, they did one of their world tours where they came to Venezuela and was the first time I got to see them live, I was miles away from the stage since I couldn't afford a closer location but just knowing the black dots in the distance were they was all the 13 year old me need it to feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

More Than That is the song from this album that i will choose as a fav, but I love all of them almost the same

You may wonder why I put this here, since is a compilation of all the albums that I already talked about, but that is because it has an exclusive new song in it, that is my favorite BSB song from all their songs ever.

Drowing Is y all time fav i could listen to this on repeat forever.

This is an album full of ballads that are like pouring salt into your wounds that make me that I'm currently in a loving 10-year-old relationship feel like I'm in the middle of a heartbreak.

I'm a fan of their ballads so is really hard for me to pick just one and I think I'm going to go with one of the not-ballads on the album just cause I can't help but sing along every time I hear it.

This album is bittersweet is the first of the 2 they made without Kevin, because he quit the band for a brief period of time, and is one that brought them back to Venezuela with their worldwide tour.

This is more back to dancing songs album and I love it, is hard to pick just one fav from here but i have to go with the one that makes me sing the most again.

Another one without Kevin and another one that brought them back to Venezuela, this is possibly one of the concerts I enjoyed the most since well I was older, and I could afford first-row tickets.

I have to say seeing them face to face is another level, I didn't know blue eyes like Brian's could shine as they do!

Is easy to pick in this album my favorite from the first time I heard it.

And Kevin is back and everything is perfect again, is also when Venezuela went into an economic crisis and even tho they did a world tour with this album they didn't come and that broke my heart so badly.

I LOVE Trues Me because I feel like it fits my relationship with my Boyfriend since this song came out just when we were starting our long distance.

I'm going to be honest is the latest album, but one of the ones I hear the least, I don't know it just hasn't connected with me yet like all the other albums, and yes I know there has been already 4 years since they realise but there is always hope that they will come again some day to Venezuela and I will start to listen to this album more and fall in love with it? idk maybe.

I will pick Chances just cause I dont have a favorite but this is probably one of the ones that i could listen the most.

I got this album as a gift from @clayboyn 💕 and I still have the picture of him buying it so I should post that LMAO! is a special mostly covers of classical Christmas songs album, but it does have a couple of originals that i really like for the holidays.

I have to say, I just picked and choose mostly for picking one but my favorites are constantly changing mostly according to my state of mind just, this playlist has all their songs and I recommend giving it a listen, they could surprise you even if you are not a fan of pop or boy bands.
