The Silverbloggers Chronicles - Prompt #5 ESP/ENG
Choosing between the two bands could prove to be a complicated matter—especially for experts in the field, and even more so for rock fans. For my part, I must confess that I am not particularly a rock fan; in my youth, I listened to the Bee Gees. However, that does not mean I haven't listened to these two legendary bands or that I haven't preferred some songs over others; in that regard, I have to admit that I liked the Beatles more.
Elegir entre una banda y la otra podría resultar un asunto complicado, en especial para los entendidos en la mateia, y más aún entre los fanaticos del rock, por mi parte debo confesar que yo no soy particularmente fanático del rock, en mi juventud yo escuchaba los Bee Gees, sin embargo esto no significa que yo no haya escuchadoa estas dos bandas legendarias y que no haya preferido algunas canciones por encima de otras, y en ese sentido debo tengo que reconocer que me gustaban mas los Beatles.
I was particularly drawn to the ballads composed by Paul McCartney, such as "Let It Be"; even without knowing the meaning of the lyrics, I would let myself be carried away by the melody. Nowadays, thanks to technology, it is easy to get a quick translation, but that wasn't the case during my youth. The Beatles defined an era; their songs weren't just heard on the radio—they were felt deep within one's very being. Another song of theirs that I always loved—and still listen to when trying to fall asleep, as I find the melody so soothing—is "I Love Her"; the lyrics are an ode to devotion and love. The Beatles had it all: songs about love, friendship, and fun, and even songs about pets—like the one Paul McCartney wrote for his dog, Martha. In short, they paid attention to the details and highlighted the value of every element, which is why I liked them so much.
En especial las baladas compuestas por Paul McCartney como Let it be ya que aun sin que yo supiera cuál era el significado de la letra yo me dejaba llevar por la melodía. Hoy en día gracias a la tecnología es fácil conseguir una rápida traducción pero no en la época de mi juventud. Los Beatle marcaron una época, us canciones no solo se oían en la radio se sentían en la piel y en las venas. Otra de las canciones que siempre me gustómucho de ellos y que yo aún la uso para dormir porque la melodía me parece muy relajante es "I Love Her" la letra es una oda a la devoción y al amor. Los Beatles lo tenían todo: canciones sobre amor, sobre amistad, sobre diversión e incluso canciones a mascotas como la canción que escribió Paul McCartney para su perra Martha, es decir, estaban atentos a los detalles y resaltaban el valor de cada elemento, por eso me gustaban más.
However, there is a Rolling Stones song I cannot ignore—one I have truly always loved—and I am referring to "Angie." It carries an aura of melancholy that perfectly captures the end of a relationship, although I recall a strong debate at the time suggesting it actually alluded to Keith Richards' heroin addiction; in any case, art is subjective, giving us the opportunity to interpret this masterpiece however we wish.
Sin embargo hay una canción de los Rolling Stone que no puedo ignorar y que de verdad siempre me ha gustado mucho, me refiero a "Angie" con esa aura de melancolía que define muy bien el fin de una relación, aunque recuerdo que en su momento hubo un debate muy marcado que sugería que más bien se refería a la adicción de Keith Richards a la heroína, de cualquier manera el arte es sugetivo, así que nos da la oportunidad de interpretar esta obra maestra como deseemos.
