Mi querencia: it is a tune-passage composed by Simón Díaz. The song was initially released in the album Tonadas (1974). In the album Cuenta y Canta, Vol. 1, Díaz explains that the theme of the song is the migration from rural areas to the urban centers of Venezuela after the oil boom of the mid-20th century, which caused a deficit in production in the countryside and an increase in poverty in the big cities. It is one of Simón Díaz's best known songs and a classic of Venezuelan folk music.
