The Soundtrack of My Life: My Favorite Music Genres and Why I Love Them

Music is an important part of our lives; it can play a big role in entertaining us, serve as a helpful tool to elevate our mood, and improve our mental health. There are several genres of music, and all are great, at least in the ears of those who love to sing and listen to them. I'm a big fan of music as well, and I love several genres of it. If you're someone who's close to me, you'll easily understand my taste in music and the genres I love. Well, for the sake of those who don't know me in person, I'll be telling you all about my favorite genre of music and why I love it.

Although for me, when you see my list of favorite genres of music, you might think I'm somewhat complicated individually, and that's because while I love cool and calm music, I also love some loud, hardcore music, and I guess it all depends on the musician, the message of their song, and how they present it. Well, without further ado, let's get to it.

My number one favorite genre of music is gospel. I'm a big fan of gospel music, and I love it a lot because I'm a Christian and needed such music to elevate my spirits and guide me in the way of the Lord. Gospel music puts me in the mood for prayers and also helps me not go astray because sometimes their lyrics guide us and preach what's in the Bible extensively.

The gospel genre of music revolves around different other genres of music, because we've got gospel rap, gospel afrobeat, and the like, depending on the style of singing of such musicians. As long as you are a Christian and enjoy the things of God, then the gospel genre of music is definitely a go-to style of music for you.

The rap genre of music is another style of music I really love and appreciate a lot. While growing up, I've been a big fan of rapping, and although some of the artists I knew who sang it were those Christians in this part of the world who will call it worldly music, their lyrics too are hardcore and full of some x-rated words, but I still enjoy the flow of the music, the rhythm, and the rhyme.

Artists like Little Wayne, Rick Ross, and Olamide are my favorites when it comes to rap songs, and their lyrics are related, either based on money, women, or society. Although I'm a Christian, sometimes I want to fill in with some worldly vibes. This rap song is what I love, and Olamide really makes me enjoy it with his numerous rhymes and punchlines.

I also love afrobeat and some r&b music, but then ain't as love as I do towards gospel and rap song, but lately I also listened to more of afrobeat, especially now that it has taken the music industry and the world by storm and artists like the late Mohbad, Omah Lay, Rema, and the likes are some of my favorites in that genre of music. Well, that's about it for my favorite genre of music. I hope you enjoyed the read. Have a wonderful day, and stay blessed.
