My Favourite Musical Instrument

Music is life and one of the best medicines for the soul, which literally has the ability to melt our soul. The key ingredients that make up music are the musical instruments that bring out the rhythm and grant various songs tunes and feelings that keep the listener glued to or enchanted by the song. Generally, I'm a fan of music, and my all-time favorite musical instrument is the keyboard.

The keyboard is believed to be one of the best musical instruments ever invented, and some even argue that it is the father of all instruments. I couldn't agree more because, aside from the specificity of the keyboard, it also has the ability to imitate the sound of other musical instruments such as drums, violins, guitars, and the like, which makes it unique and one of the reasons why I loved it.

Aside from this, it's also believed that if you're fortunate enough to perfect how to perfectly play the keyboard, then playing most of the other musical instruments won't really be hard for you because you've got to master all the keys, octaves, and notes of the keyboard. As we all know, all musical instruments consist of notes, and the keyboard has the same, and this can move higher in octave depending on the genre of song.

With that being said and understood, if I were to ever want to learn or perfect the act of any particular musical instrument, then it's definitely going to be the piano, because it's the bedrock of all songs and musical instruments, and without it, music hardly sounds perfect.

During my service year at NYSC, I did try to learn it and went to some classes where I was taught about the note, cords, and the like. After showing me the note do re mi fa so la ti, I was guided on how to place my hand on the piano and then led on playing some simple musical notes and ones that can be played in different worship songs and yet would still blend in depending on the tempo I'm playing at and how it aligns with the pace of the singer.

I've not really had time to practice after my NYSC program, nor have I furthered my studies on it, but I'll surely really appreciate knowing how it's played and hopefully playing it perfectly one day.
