Found another RockClassic
9 months no post to my #Rockclassics series anymore - though I covered all I considered a classic for me - when I found something during Cellar tidying work, a 45 vinyl single from "The Tubes" - I loved that song ages ago - a band founded back in 1972 in San Francisco - Rock and Punk - the song I bought was probably the most comercial one. Maybe someone remembers them, they still tour and play as alll these 70ies/80ies Rock bands.

Interesting parts
While they been Punk, rock they used a lot different hooks to music, from dance movies to use sports as background - one interesting one the production of their single "Sports Fans" that was recorded live during halftime of the legendary San Francisco 49ers "The Catch" game - you could see crew members on the side lines in the slow motion replay.
She is a Beauty hit me
Here the original album version followed by a live version from 1983:
This song was from the album "Outside Inside" and made them a bit mainstream (hence I discovered them) and was produced by David Foster - a new approach for the band and exlains a tension between original arty members and the more commercial pop rock guys - album had support in production by several studio musicians -I love from Chicago and Toto.
Since that album I have to admit I did not hear a lot by them and also did not follow - maybe old farts like @steevc @meesterboom know them.

I've heard of them, but not heard much of the music. I know their live act was a bit controversial. They appeared on a UK music show and that got some complaints for being a bit sexual. Got some similarities with Tom Petty, The Cars and Blondie in the style of that time.
There's a word for people who complain about music being too sexual...

What does 'rock and roll' even mean? Sex has always been part of the mix, but maybe these guys took it further. I don't know enough to judge them.
