Dancing thanks to Darmstadt (Germany): Culture Beat, Captain Jack, Snap

Darmstadt - hab ich darüber mal geschrieben? Nein, nicht wirklich - eventuell über Projekte dort. Unabhängig hab ich da mal gearbeitet als DELL der Studi Job war für uns alle - wobei, war in Langen, aber ist für mich wie Darmstadt. Und ich hab in Darmstadt in meiner Jugend oft Turniere gespielt - Egelsbach - das waren die D-Jugend Zeiten (Fussball) - geil war es, aber hier geht es um die Musik aus der kleinen südhessischen Stadt

What the hell is Darmstadt you might ask?

Darmstadt is a city in the South of Hesse (part of Germany) - Frankfurt is 40km up in the North, my home city 40km away in the west. Read more on Wikipedia:

Sounds from Darmstadt

Some of the project you might know from Torsten Fenslau (a true music pioneer in Techno and Dance - wrote often about, he died way too early - he been a DJ in Dorian Gray and more - was a key driver of electronic music in Germany and invented some commercial successful projects).

Culture Beat

Created 1989 by Torsten - many line up changes internatioanlly mostly known for "Mr. Vain" performed by Tania Evans and rapper Jay Supreme - the song was anumber-one hit in eleven European countries.

Captain Jack

Another typical American-German Eurodance project after US military forces stopped work but we had tons of great musicians that combined rap with electronic dance - the project also formed in Darmstadt in 1995. Most known songs below with several top 10 chart success across Europe at least.

Snap

Snap is a different topic - they started in the Darmstadt area, not directly in the city, with Rap stuff before they moved with other line-ups to the best every dance song of all time (that is even appreciated by Techno gurus).
