Born in the USA - has that song still the same meaning?
letzter politischer Post - aber es muss raus - dann ist auch gut - hoffe die Leute, die es entscheiden / ändern könnten machen auch was - ich hab zu keiner Superpower Vertrauen - aktuell echt eher noch China als USA und das heisst was, wenn man mich kennt - ich stelle mch auch auf Flags ein von den Kämpfern from the so-called "Home of the Free and the Land of the Brave" lol what a bullshit these day - das ist aber andere Geschichte - es war bereits Geschichte bei der Ankunft als die American Natives zerstört wurden

But given Trump is reorganizing political systems - seems democracy as we knew it not playing a part of it and US was frontrunner for this freedom - the US was key for democracy and freedrom - Seems that hardly exists anymore soon.
Not living in the US so can not judge what is going on there on the ground but honestly this guy is strange - I would say he has anyway no Power because Elon is the one driving it, together with the other folks watching for a new system (one of them even German called Thiel - his former Paypal buddy).
Are we proud in the US for being born there still? Bruce Springsteen song was already criticizing stuff ages ago:

What is next America?
Will Trump really nose dive into Putin ass or Elons plan to rule the world from Earth to Mars to whereever? I really doubt Trump has any say here (was the same in his first president timing - he was driven by senate and economic powers). Now we have of course Putin who is stronger than Trump and we have Elon Musk who is way stronger than both. So is the plan to destroy Europe or position it as useless (might be - but we are stronger as others think even we have issues other countries never will face, given we have culture, we have history, we have pride - this is also our problem but anyways - we can overcome that).
My only concern right now - the world changes all countries (some, at least Europe) plan to incest a huge percentage of their gross income towards armed forces to be ready to defend against the US ( as well as against Russia) - is that really the 21st century - are we really that stupid to fight each other, to fuck each other and as a result the world will be ruled by small dicks that wanna have Power with no brain?
With investment in military it shows alone humans are sick, power - money etc counts - being stronger or better as others - we can not save the world - no matter what people think about climate change but we throw money out of the window to fight our own tribe - other humans instead of trying to save the planet. BUT - that might be the plan from others who have the capabilities to fly to other planets within SPACE.
We grew up with a certain opinion China is bad - oh well - in comparison they are good.
I am pretty annoyed by all of that - promise my last post about politics!

First, the Democrats bleating about "the end of democracy" are propagandists playing as bad loser far more than they are righteous defenders of the people. This is partisanship on their part, not principles. Just 4 years ago, they had flipped from opposing Trump's COVID policies because he wasn't trampling rights fast enough to supporting Biden and various governors in states that cracked down hardest. They do not give a damn about liberty in reality, they want power and prestige above all. The jingoistic warmongering that has grown in the Democratic party over the last 2 decades is part of that cancer.
Second, Trump ran on overturning the status quo and dismantling federal overreach and bureaucratic bloat. He's not consistent or philosophically sound, but there is an attempt by some of those he has surrounded himself with to guide that toward restricting the government to its enumerated powers. This has had mixed results, to say the least. He's pulled between neo-conservative warmongers, christian nationalists, conservative populists, and libertarians with the libertarians losing ground to the other authoritarian factions much of the time.
Third, despite all the political bullshit, many Americans still cling to the live-and-let-live independent spirit and advocate for real freedom. It does feel like we're a dying breed sometimes. And Born in the USA isn't exactly the same gung-ho unapologetically nationalistic anthem songs like I'm Proud to be an American is, if you read Springsteen's lyrics.
Was du bei LinkedIn monierst, praktizierst du wortreich auf Hive. Was mir bei diesem Beitrag auffällt, ist der Fakt, dass der Text eines Songs als Aufhänger dient, die Lyrik allerdings nicht so gründlich unter die Lupe genommen wird. Der amerikanische Patriotismus ist einfach nicht vergleichbar mit dem europäischen Nationalstolz. Noch ein Punkt – Aufrüstung (egal wie man dazu stehen mag) ist nichts anderes als eine Investition in einen Wirtschaftszweig, an dem etliche Arbeitsplätze kleben. Waffen werden nun einmal nicht eingesetzt, um Kriege zu gewinnen, sondern die Produktion am Laufen zu halten. Beispiele gibt es zuhauf. Kann Netanjahu die Hamas vertreiben? Nein - das können nur die Palästinenser selbst. Aber ein Land platt machen, das funktioniert ohne größere Probleme. Die Amerikaner sorgen mit Freude für den reibungslosen Nachschub.

Da hast Du leider recht, aber ich höre auf damit - gestern auch auf LinkedIn diskutiert - und dabei sogar positive Gespräche gehabt - aber ist nix langfristig für mich.
Was Song angeht "Lyrik" - mir ging es um den Titel sonst auch nix!
Was du mit amerikanischem Patriosmus meinst im Vergleich zu europäischem Nationstolz mir nicht so ganz klar (Vor allem - amerikanisch ist nicht US, ich rede von USA - Amerika ist für mich mehr als die Vereinigten Staaten). Es gibnt KEINEN europäischen Nationalstolz, denn wir sind komplewtt unterschiedliche Länder, Sprachen, Kulturen etc - was auch gut ist. Der Nationalstolz in Spanien, Italien, Frankreich ist anders als in Deutschland - man freut sich über tolle Erfolge der Landsleute. Das war in Deutschland in meiner Jugend auch noch so - es gab damals (viel näher an WW2 sogar Kämpfe gegen England, Holland verbalerweise die kein Problem darstelle bzw uns / mir egal waren - steigst in Amsterdam aus Zug und kriegst gesagt hey du Deutsch, Du Nazi - aufgeregt, was dagegen gesagt, auf Fussball verwiesen und gut war es. Jetzt wo es fast 100 Jahre her ist mit dem zwiten Weltkrieg werden wir Deutschen immer schlimmer und ängslicher - wahrscheinlich noch schlimmer in paar Jahren wenn es um den 30jährigen Krieg geht :-).
Du kannst Nationalstolz in Deutschland nicht mit anderen in Europa vergleichen, alle anderen Länder sind entspannter, wir aber lassen uns Stempel aufbrennen, auf die ich keine Lust mehr habe, und andere Ländern verstehen auch nicht wieso wir usn selbst geisseln mit der Vergangenheit - meisnt Du Japan ist da so bekloppt wie wir? Italien? Never!
Aufrüstung Wirtschaftszweig ja, der war ja tot - was gut war - diesen Wirtschaftszweig braucht man nicht solange die Menschen nicht vorhanden sind, damit umzugehen und da brauchst Du 20 Jahre für den Fall der Fälle.
Zu Hamas und dem Nazi aus Israel sag ich besser nichts.

Da ich weit mehr Jahre außerhalb Deutschlands verbracht habe und wohl auch nie mehr dort sesshaft werde, hat sich das mit dem Nationalstolz bei mir ohnehin erledigt. Wenn du allerdings an einer irren Form des Nationalstolzes interessiert bist, dann rate ich dir zum Ticketkauf für ein Basketballspiel zwischen Cibona Zagreb gegen Partizan Belgrad. Zu Helm und Schutzkleidung würde ich allerdings raten.
Ich reg mich da wenig auf, reg mich über andere Sachen im persönlichen Umfeld mehr auf :-).
Zagreb - Belgrad ok -aber inner Deutsch im Vergleich kaum schlimmer wie früher Kaiserslautern gegen Waldhof Mannheim oder Lautern gegen Eintracht Frankfurt - ich war dabei (als Zuschauer und auf dem Spielfeld)
