Hello, my dear musical community. I hope you are all doing well, resting, and enjoying this Holy Week to the fullest. On this special occasion, I would like to present a solemn processional march called "La Esperanza de María" (The Hope of Mary), in commemoration of Holy Week, in a short recorder arrangement. I hope you enjoy it.

Hola, mi querida comunidad musical. Espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, descansando y viviendo esta Semana Santa al máximo. En esta grata oportunidad, quiero presentarles una marcha solemne de procesión llamada "La Esperanza de María", en conmemoración de la Semana Santa, en un pequeño cover de flauta dulce. Espero que les agrade.

Since it's Holy Week, I wanted to record a song I've known since the year before last, one that has deeply moved me. This march is of Andalusian origin, composed by the musician Alejandro Blanco Hernández and premiered in 2012 by the Banda Solemne de Andalucía. It has become very popular in processions related to Our Lady of Sorrows, especially on Good Friday, and lately it has gone viral on TikTok with videos of these important celebrations in Andalusia, such as the processions in Guatemala, Andalusia, and the Vatican.

Aprovechando que estamos en Semana Santa, quise grabar una canción que conozco desde el año antepasado y que me ha conmovido profundamente. Esta marcha es de origen andaluz, compuesta por el músico Alejandro Blanco Hernández y estrenada en el año 2012 por la Banda Solemne de Andalucía. Se ha vuelto muy popular en las procesiones relacionadas con la Dolorosa, especialmente los Viernes Santo, y últimamente se ha hecho muy viral en TikTok con videos de este tipo de celebraciones importantes en Andalucía, como son las procesiones de Guatemala, Andalucía y el Vaticano.

It's a very emotional and moving melody. I must admit that the first time I heard it in a procession, I cried. That was one of the reasons why it was a little difficult to record it without bursting into tears. It's not a very complicated song for the recorder, although I can't say the same for the trumpet range, for which it was written. It became a bit easier during the editing process. I didn't want to make many arrangements; I wanted the soprano to be the soloist throughout. I wanted to make it as moving as possible, obviously in my own way. Honestly, I think it's a very beautiful song that reminds me of my roots, since I grew up in a Catholic family, and Holy Week for me is a symbol of respect, prayer, faith, and above all, solemnity.

Es una melodía muy emotiva y conmovedora. Debo admitir que la primera vez que la escuché en una procesión, lloré. Esa fue una de las razones por las cuales fue un poco complicado grabarla sin que se me escaparan las lágrimas. No es una canción muy complicada para el registro de la flauta dulce, aunque no puedo decir lo mismo para el registro de las trompetas, para el cual está escrita. Al momento de editar, se me hizo un poco más fácil. No quise hacerle muchos arreglos, sino que la soprano fuese la solista en todo momento. Quise hacerla lo más conmovedora posible, obviamente a mi manera. La verdad, me parece una canción muy bonita que me recuerda mis raíces, ya que crecí en una familia católica y la Semana Santa para mí es el símbolo de respeto, oración, fe y, sobre todo, solemnidad.

For me, this march is nothing more than a vivid reminder that, even when days turn dark, we must always maintain a glimmer of hope, like the hope the Virgin Mary had when her son was crucified. It also reminds me of a video I saw some time ago that explained the feelings of Catholics worldwide when witnessing processions and the saints in these kinds of events. Many people might say they weep before the statues, but the reality is that they weep and embrace the memory these images evoke: the memory of grandparents who instilled the Catholic faith and are no longer with us, of people who were with us on our journey and, sadly, have passed away. Seeing the processions and our saints is not worshipping images; it is embracing a culture that has accompanied us from the moment we are born until the moment we die, and passing it on from generation to generation.

Para mí, esta marcha no es más que el vívido recuerdo de que, a pesar de que los días se tornen oscuros, siempre hay que mantener una mínima esperanza, como la que tuvo la Virgen María en el momento en que su hijo fue crucificado. Además, me recuerda un video que vi hace tiempo, que explicaba el sentimiento de los católicos en todo el mundo al presenciar las procesiones y los santos en este tipo de manifestaciones. Mucha gente puede opinar que lloran ante las estatuas, pero la realidad es que lloran y abrazan el recuerdo que estas imágenes evocan: el recuerdo de los abuelos que inculcaron la fe católica y ya no están, de personas que estuvieron con nosotros en nuestro camino y, lamentablemente, se fueron. Ver las procesiones y nuestros santos no es adorar imágenes, es abrazar una cultura que nos ha acompañado desde el momento en que nacemos hasta el momento en que vamos a morir, y transmitirla de generación en generación.

And this is precisely why I dared to record this beautiful march and take away a fond memory of Holy Week. I hope you enjoy my interpretation; I truly made it with all the affection and love in the world. I will soon be releasing new projects, whether of this nature or on other themes, and having the opportunity to hear it live is a truly evocative, otherworldly experience.

Y justamente esta es la razón por la cual me atreví a grabar esta hermosa marcha y llevarme un grato recuerdo de la Semana Santa. Espero que les guste mi interpretación; de verdad la hice con todo el cariño y amor del mundo. Próximamente seguiré lanzando nuevos proyectos, ya sea de esta índole o de otros temas, y que tengan la oportunidad de escucharla en vivo y en directo es una sensación sinceramente evocadora de otro mundo.
