That's a another lovely piece indeed. I'm curious, if it's Aramaic, why is it written in Hebrew letters? 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™

There is no Aramaic script text available on Google, iPhone etc

It’s the same 22 letter aleph bet

Aleph is an Aleph
Bet is a Bet

I’m hoping one day they will add Aramaic script to Google translate.

It would definitely help with learning Aramaic

Ah, OK, I understand. Yes, the Semetic languages have quite a lot of similarities indeed, as do most languages within a family. May it be so, and I'm sure that it would. I'm a language geek, so I love this stuff. 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™

Yes… I am slowly learning Galilean Aramaic so I can read many of the mystical books that were originally written in Aramaic.

The Book of Daniel, Ezra, the Zohar and many of the earliest works of the early Christians, gnostics, mystics.

Wow, that's quite amazing, and for studying those texts that does seem like the language to choose. How are you learning it?

Weren't some written in Greek and even Coptic? I could swear that I remember that. 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™

Yes. Many of the books in the New Testament were also written in Greek and many of the earliest scriptures like the Gospel of Thomas were written in Coptic.

OK, that's what I thought. It's rather amazing how many languages were involved in the numerous biblical writings. 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™

I am learning it by reading the Aramaic Targum (Torah) , The Peshitta (New Testament) and The Zohar. Listening to Aramaic prayers and music on YouTube and creating my own Aramaic music with https://Suno.com

Have to be careful with the Aramaic Targum though … many of the Messiah English Translations are incorrect

Bar Enosh = Son of Man , as found in the Ancient Book of Enoch

That's quite an undertaking, but I think that it's a good way to do it because it engages different areas of the brain, which makes learning 'stick' more effectively.

Yes, I imagine that there are many mistranslations in various places, both intentional and unintentional.

The Book of Enoch comes up a lot. It's a fascinating document. 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™
