Let Dance Be Thy Medicine

Come away with me, to a place high up in the mountains. Where the air is so clean and spring water is in abundance. When I arrive, one of the first things that I do, is to drink from the spring, connecting with the land.

This evening, I am celebrating my birthday early. By attending an Ecstatic Dance Event, in the Earth Temple. A beautiful circular wooden structure that you can see in the photo above.

Many of my friends are there, as well as a few who surprised me.

I love to dance, to lose myself in the music. I am in my element, when I am dancing.

Inside this temple, the floor is made of earth, whilst the circular shape, feels like a womb. I step inside and it is as though I have returned home, it feels so nurturing and safe.

With everything that has happened these last few weeks, I need this medicine, this ability to really let go, to let myself sink into the womb of the earth, as I flow with the music.

I am taken on a journey, where I feel myself release more and more, whilst opening myself up to receive. Music and dancing, have always allowed me to soften, to close my eyes and be at peace.

On this evening, I dance around the temple, feeling every beat, letting my body melt into the music. It's hard for me to put into words, how I feel, when I dance.

It is a lifeline for me, a way in which I can express myself and make sense of this world. Where I step into my role as creator, shifting the energy within my body.

I always end up, feeling so liberated.

There is something really magical about being in a space, where everyone, is open. A safe space, where everyone gets to just let go. The energy created by all of those present, is just so intoxicating.

It is the highest I have ever been, such a magical natural high. So powerful.

To feel that way, knowing it all comes from within, it really changes the way, in which you look at the world, the way in which you interact with it.

Creating such beautiful energy, whilst also opening ourselves up to receive energy from the earth herself. Becoming vessels.

I got to experience all of that this evening. As I moved through the space, with a huge smile on my face. I had such a beautiful moment, when I re-entered the temple, after going outside to get some fresh air. I paused at the doorway and took in the wonderful sight, of everyone dancing and I felt so lucky, so full of joy and love.

The perfect medicine for me, after these last few weeks.
