My review of performances for week 32 of vibes web3 music competition
It’s another week of vibes web3 music competition and I am excited to give a review of my top 3 performers. This week, there have been many amazing performances. A lot of talented and hardworking people put effort into making incredible performances. Let’s dive into the review
1. "What is love” (cover) by @mamisushi
@mamisushi did a great job in her performance. Her voice was amazing. She hit the right pitch, used the right tone and absolutely aced it. It felt as if the song was originally hers. She owned it. In addition, there was never a moment where I felt she was going to fall off. She stuck to the beat, properly blending her voice with it as she sang. I could see the passion she sang with. It was beautiful to watch.
I can tell that @mamisushi really loves singing, and it is evident from her performance. It was one I watched over and over again not just because of how good it was, but also because of how much it reminded me of the original version of the song.
2. “All of me” by John Legend (cover) by @favourstrings
@favourstrings performed a song that is so dear to me and he absolutely nailed it, in my opinion. I love how he played the piano so perfectly and seemingly effortlessly. He got the sound right with the piano. Sometimes I wish I could be that good with a piano.
Now to his singing, I admire how he didn’t go off key while singing this beautiful song. Like many of us who love this popular love song, it was obvious he had the lyrics of this song engraved in his brain. As he sang, one could see that he connected with the song. He did an excellent job of maintaining the perfect notes, even in difficult parts of the song.
3. You’re the reason by Calum Scott (cover) by @danielkuye
I totally like the clarity that came with @danielkuye’s performance. His voice, the sound, the lyrics were all clear. He performed a song really dear to me and got me singing to it as well. His performance was natural. There was nothing forced about it, neither did it look like he was trying too much. It was just natural. As slow as this song sounds, it is not an easy song to perform as it fluctuates between a high pitch and a low pitch intermittently. He did a good job at this. Having to move from a low pitch to a high pitch and back, that takes a lot.
Another thing worthy of note in his performance is the emotions. You can tell from his facial expression and the way he performs it that it’s a performance he put so much into. One could also tell that this is a song he loves so much.
That’s it for my review. I totally had fun watching and reviewing these performances. You can check them out if you haven’t already. I’m sure you would love them. I am looking forward to reviewing more performances.
