Hello dear Aftitunes community, my name is Treasure Awesome and voila!, With Christmas coming, I thought it would be fun to share some classic holiday tunes with the aftutunes community. When I saw they were holding an Afri-Christmas song contest, I knew Annie Lennox's rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" would be perfect! Her version puts a hauntingly beautiful spin on this traditional carol.

The instruments from this song has a kind of African beat to it, there's this whistle like kind of sound that is embed in the instruments which makes it sound so African like.

I once did a version of the song in church some years back alongside my sister, and I thought I needed a new sound to this because, I know the song has so many versions and I went searching and thankfully I came up with this which makes me happy about it.

I encountered some issues while I was recording this song, you know when you live in a remote place that you don't have access to a lot of things ranging from some type of food items , phone gadgets etc, this was the issue I faced, I had some issues with my earpcs which made my recording kinda awkward, I think you might notice it on the video, but when I couldn't find a earpiece to record, my husband encouraged me to publish it this way instead of dumping the video in my trash.

In a way I am still glad I dripped this video here instead of not participating at all, I have looked forward to this day only for my earpiece to act up.
