Hive Learners Creative-Sunday | | Gbo Adura wa (An original) (cover by treasuree)
Greetings, dear friends of Hive I'm so happy to be with you all this weekend to share in making music together, it's the Hive learners creative-sunday. I'll be singing an original composition that was very special at my former church. We used to perform it as a special ministration during services, as a kind of sung prayer reminding ourselves of God's endless mercy and grace.
Designed on canva
The lyrics of this song capture how Scripture promises that when we lift our voices to heaven, bringing our sincere hopes and struggles before God's throne, He hears us. As the Bible says, when we knock in earnest petition, the door shall be opened. When we ask believing, we shall receive.
The songwriter was inspired by the biblical story of Hannah - the woman who longed for a child to the point of deep despair, yet continued crying out her pain and desire to the Lord. Though it seemed her prayers went unanswered for years, Hannah kept her faith. Finally the day came when God showed her mercy, and she conceived and became the mother of Samuel.
As the lyrical melody so beautifully conveys, just as God's favor shone on Hannah to deliver her from emptiness into joy, so too can we trust that He will look upon our need. When we come to God in humble faith, fully reliant on His grace, He will not ignore our cry. In His perfect time and will, our prayers shall result in sweet answers too.
I hope as I lift my voice in this song, you'll join with me in contemplating the vastness of our Creator who hears our faintest whisper. Let's reflect on how we might come before Him in earnest like Hannah, unshakable in our patient hope. For our God is a compassionate Father. When we wait on the Lord, He shall renew our strength to rise up on eagles wings.
