En el año 1972 el artista británico Elton John publicaba una de sus obras más importantes e icónicas de su carrera: “Rocketman”.
En pleno auge de la carrera espacial con las misiones Apolo, Elton John nos cuenta la historia de como un astronauta cumple su sueño de viajar al espacio pero al mismo tiempo como abandona para ello a su familia y amigos.
La canción es en sí misma una metáfora sobre alcanzar el éxito y la fama y los problemas emocionales que ello puede suponer en el día a día de cualquier persona.

At the height of the space race and at the height of the Apollo missions, Elton John tells the story of how an astronaut fulfills his dream of traveling into space but at the same time how he abandons his family and friends to do so.
The song is in itself a metaphor about achieving success and fame and the emotional problems that this can mean in the day to day life of any person.
