Breakfast in America Anniversary- My Actifit Report Card: March 29 2023
On 29 March 1979, "Breakfast in America" was released, the sixth studio album by the British band Supertramp. It is possibly their biggest commercial and critical success, which allowed them to position themselves as one of the most important bands of the moment all over the world.
The album cover shows an American waitress holding a giant coffee cup as a parody of the Statue of Liberty, and although at first glance a seemingly ridiculous image, it eventually became one of the most iconic in rock history.
The lyrics are funny and witty with many references to American culture and the melodies are very catchy. The album contains some of the biggest hits of Supertramp's career.
"Breakfast in America" is a must-have classic in the history of 70s rock music.
