Aqualung Anniversary- My Actifit Report Card: March 19 2023
On March 19, 1971 "Aqualung" fourth studio album by the British band Jethro Tull is released.
Aqualung contains a fusion of different elements of rock, folk and classical music, and adds the use of unusual instruments in rock, such as the flute of Ian Anderson, leader of the band.
The album is divided into two parts: the first is a series of short songs, while the second is a single full-length song. The lyrics are complex and enigmatic, with themes ranging from social criticism to religion and spirituality.
The end result is a concept album with a dark and mysterious atmosphere.
Aqualung is considered one of the band's best works and has been hailed as one of the best progressive rock albums of all time.
