On 13 December 1975, the album "Horses" by the versatile American artist Patti Smith was released. Considered a masterpiece of the punk rock movement, "Horses" combines numerous styles such as reggae, jazz and garage with punk, making it a landmark album and a great influence on later bands such as The Police and The Clash.
Patti Smith is one of the great icons of rock music of all time, and in "Horses" she introduces a more sophisticated, refined and intellectual style of lyrics, unusual in the punk scene of the time, which caused a great stir in the music scene of those years due to the controversial subject matter of her songs, with broad references to religion, feminism and sexuality.
