Volvemos a la carga con Metallica! Cómo están mi des buenos amigos de HIVE, les envío un fuerte abrazo en especial a los miembros de la comunidad de Music. Esta vez nos remontaremos al año 1984 cuándo ellos lanzaron al mercado su segundo álbum de estudio denominado Ride The Lighting.

Estuve trabajando estos días en el sexto tema de dicho album el cuál tiene por nombre "Escape". Este álbum me trae muchos recuerdos, de hecho, mi hermano mayor tenía este álbum en formato de acetato; creo fue unos de los primeros álbumes que escuche de la banda.

We are back with Metallica! How are my good friends of HIVE, I send a big hug especially to the members of the Music community. This time we will go back to 1984 when they released their second studio album called Ride The Lighting.

I was working these days on the sixth track of that album which is called "Escape". This album brings back a lot of memories, in fact, my older brother had this album in acetate format; I think it was one of the first albums I listened of the band.

Paradójicamente tuve muchos más inconvenientes con el primer riff que va sobre las estrofas que con el propio solo, el ritmo parece ser sencillo pero no lo fué tanto asi, al menos para mí, hay que estar muy claro con los tiempos para no perderse.

En la introducción las guitarras van armonizadas y grabé las dos guitarras con una distorsión más brillante que la distorsión que usé para el solo. La primera parte del solo la grabé con el micrófono del mástil y en la segunda parte cambié rápidamente al micrófono del puente porque me pareció era más parecido el sonido en comparación con la versión original.

Paradoxically I had much more problems with the first riff that goes over the verses than with the solo itself, the rhythm seems to be simple but it was not so simple, at least for me, you have to be very clear with the tempos to not get lost.

In the intro the guitars are harmonized and I recorded the two guitars with a brighter distortion than the distortion I used for the solo. The first part of the solo I recorded with the neck microphone and in the second part I quickly switched to the bridge microphone because I thought the sound was more similar compared to the original version.
