Greetings, Hive Music Festival community. I hope you’re all doing great. We’re moving forward in these weeks filled with musical experiences, and I’m definitely grateful for the community’s support.

This week I’m bringing you a fairly lively performance with a steady and very melodic musical style. It does, however, have some drastic changes that aren’t always easy to interpret melódically. Still, I put in the effort to deliver an experience that allows for an emotional connection between the melodies and the listener.

I had some initial trouble with this interpretation because I didn't quite grasp the musical flow given the track’s title: Jazz Funk. Together, these genres suggest a high level of melodic language and complex phrasing. However, upon listening, I realized it’s a bit smoother than the title implies. Because of that, I struggled a bit with my approach. I usually flow naturally when things are clear to me, but here there was a bit of a clash since I’m quite traditional when it comes to the genres this track touches on.

In the end, after practicing the track several times, I realized it was even more complex than I thought. It requires managing melodies for specific soft parts while building tension and a strong, attack-heavy character for others. I’d say the best approach is definitely to play with a conservative focus when listening to the heavy guitar strums and the drums, knowing how to subtly switch to the gentler sections.

I really enjoy exploring the complexity of these things regarding melody because it offers invaluable learning. It allows for a unique sound and ultimately gives the musician an original voice.

Saludos, comunidad de Hive Music Festival, espero que esten excelentes, seguimos avanzando en estas semanas llenas de muchas experiencias musicales, sin duda agradecido con el apoyo de la comunidad.

Para esta semana les traigo una presentacion bastante animada, con un estilo musical estable y muy melodico, sin embargo con cambios drasticos que a veces no son faciles de interpretar melodicamente, sin embargo se hace el esfuerzo para llevar una experiencia que permita la conexion emocional de las melodias con el oyente.

He tenido algunas dificultades iniciales al realizar esta interpretacion porque no entendia el fluir musical debido al titulo de la pista, siendo este un Jazz Funk, y ambos generos en conjunto proponen alto nivel de lenguaje melodico y complejidad de frases, sin embargo al escuchar me doy cuenta de que es algo un poco mas suave de lo que propone, en este orden de ideas me costo un poco como aproximarme, normalmente fluyo con naturalidad cuando tengo claras las cosas sin embargo aqui hubo un pequeño choque ya que soy conservador de los generos que propone esta pista.

Al final despues de practicar varias veces la pista me doy cuenta que incluso era mas compleja de lo que pensaba, ya que requiere administrar melodias para partes especificas con un caracter suave y para otras partes generar tension y un poco de caracter fuerte lleno de ataque, podemos decir que la mejor aproximacion sin duda es interpretar con un enfoque conservador al escuchar los rasgueos fuertes de la guitarra con la bateria y el resto de ritmos y saber de alguna manera cambiar sutilmente a las secciones que son mas suaves.

Me gusta sin duda explorar la complejidad de estas cosas en materia de melodia ya que ofrece un aprendizaje invaluable, lo que permite un sonido particular y termina otorgando al musico un sonido original.
