music - rock vocalists... who do you rate as the best ever?
My daughter was sharing some of her favorite bands with me, almost none that I had heard of before...Cradle of Filth (no them)...The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Black Label Society and a few others.
Black Label Society - Believe
Now, if you asked me who this vocalist is .... I would have to say 'Ozzy Osborne' !! Very similar... but as I listened further I reckon the entire sound is that of Black Sabbath.... , the lead is so reminiscent of Tony Iommi and the cadence of the verses very much like Sabbath in the late 70's.
Black Sabbath - Lord of this World
Thoughts?
Anyway this post was actually about a discussion my good lady and I got into around male vocalists... specifically rock vocalists. We were both agreed that Freddy Mercury ruled that roost.... but how about Robert Plant? And of course Michael Stipe... he of R.E.M fame... my ladies choice... I not so sure he is up with the greats. Bono of U2 must also be in with a shout !!!
Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away
Ian Andersen of Jethro Tull appeals to me but to my mind 3rd best is Paul Rogers of Bad Company. Freddy, Robert then Paul....
Bad Company - Shooting Star
Listening to this I must admit the music is not half as challenging as the diverse Queen and Led Zeppelin sounds. Hmmmmm, maybe I need to downgrade the man {smile}. {thinks} what about Mick Jagger, David Bowie ....eishhhh
I play out with the great man himself .... showcasing his immense talent !!
Queen - Find Me Somebody to Love
Absolute gooseflesh stuff. let me know your thoughts and personal favorites in the comments below... and mayhaps soon we look at female rockers !!
Thanks for stopping by, thanks for the support and stay safe, stay free and keep stacking them sats.
