[ESP-ENG] ciudadELA - Un aliento de esperanza
¡Hola comunidad! Hacía ya un tiempo no escribía por acá, pero hoy vengo comentándoles algo que les puede alentar el alma, se trata de un proyecto de impacto social que busca visibilizar la enfermedad de la ELA, también conocida como la Esclerosis Lateral Amiotrófica, la cual, tristemente frecuentan cinco de cada 10000 personas en el mundo y hasta la fecha, no tiene cura. Hablemos de ciudadELA, una iniciativa cubana para la vislumbración de esta enfermedad en Cuba y el mundo.
Hello community! It's been a while since I wrote here, but today I come to tell you about something that can encourage your soul, it is about a social impact project that seeks to raise awareness of the ALS disease, also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, which sadly five out of 10,000 people in the world suffer from and to date, has no cure. Let's talk about ciudadELA, a Cuban initiative to raise awareness of this disease in Cuba and the world.
ciudadELA es el nombre del proyecto que, a través de la música y la tecnología, intenta brindar una mayor visibilidad a la causa de esta enfermedad, levantando la voz de los artistas involucrados junto a pacientes cubanos que la contraen. El día 8 de Septiembre (2023) fue su inauguración en los Espacios Creativos de La Habana, donde se reunieron más de 100 personas en el local para presenciar esta nueva modalidad creativa con enfoque hacia la medicina.
ciudadELA is the name of the project that, through music and technology, seeks to provide greater visibility to the cause of this disease, raising the voice of the artists involved along with Cuban patients who contract it. On September 8 (2023) was its inauguration at the Habana Espacios Creativos, where more than 100 people gathered at the venue to witness this new creative modality with a focus on medicine.
Entre sus principales factores, se destacó uno en particular por encima de los demás, una canción que representa al proyecto mismo y enfatiza la lucha viral por darle a la ELA el reconocimiento visual que necesita para que sea mejor sensibilizada por más personas en el mundo. Esta canción se produjo por parte del equipo creativo del proyecto y fue lanzada como coleccionable digital (NFT) con el objetivo de reunir fondos para apoyar a personas con esta enfermedad.
Among its main factors, one in particular stood out above the rest, a song that represents the project itself and emphasizes the viral fight to give ALS the visual recognition it needs to be better sensitized by more people in the world. This song was produced by part of the project's creative team and was released as a digital collectible (NFT) with the goal of raising funds to support people with this disease.
La ELA, ataca mortalmente las células del cuerpo de las personas afectadas haciendo que pierdan la movilidad en diferentes partes de su cuerpo, provocando en última instancia, la muerte. La esperanza de vida de una persona que contrae esta enfermedad es de apenas unos meses o cuando más de dos a cinco años, pero con una frecuente y falta de control sobre los órganos motores de su cuerpo. A pesar de que su nombre pueda causar confusión, la ELA no es una enfermada contagiosa y no se transfiere en lo absoluto de humano a humano.
ALS fatally attacks the body cells of affected persons causing them to lose mobility in different parts of their body, ultimately leading to death. The life expectancy of a person who contracts this disease is only a few months or when more than two to five years, but with a frequent and lack of control over the motor organs of his/her body. Although its name may cause confusion, ALS is not a contagious disease and does not transfer at all from human to human.
Para la creación de esta valiosa canción fueron usados los movimientos y funciones motoras de pacientes cubanos bajo su previo consentimiento, a través de un dispositivo llamado theremin que facilitó la digitalización de sus ondas espectrales convirtiéndolas en sonido llevados a escala. Por esto, coleccionar una edición de esta canción NFT no es como comprar una canción y ya está, sino que estás auto-obsequiándote tú mismo(a) con una obra única de alto valor social que fue construida a partir de sentimientos físicos de personas muy especiales, dejando una huella implícita en ella mediante la cadena de bloques.
For the creation of this valuable song, the movements and motor functions of Cuban patients were used under their previous consent, through a device called theremin that facilitated the digitalization of their spectral waves converting them into sound taken to scale. Therefore, collecting an edition of this music NFT is not like buying a song and that's it, but rather you are giving yourself a unique work of high social value that was built from the physical feelings of very special people, leaving an implicit imprint on it through the blockchain.
